@Grizz are you from South Carolina?..if so where at?
Im in laurens county over on lake greenwood. racer is in greer. There is a good bit of guys on here from SC.
Nice fix!
@Grizz Thatās Awesome Iām down in Charlestonā¦really Iām in Summerville but nobody knows where thatās at unless your from SC lolā¦I used to date a girl that went to college up that way at Landerā¦and @Racer Iāve been up around Greer a time or two also.
Im hoping to head that way around August for a weekend or a week. But might have to use all my vaction days on our trip to Washington dc this year.
Be careful crossing the river. I knew someone that fell in he and drownededed
@Grizz if you get down this way give me a heads up and Iāll clear some time to at the least grab some food and a beer and put a screenname and face together lol
For sure man.
Terrible decisionā¦ avoid that place like the plague.
Lived there. Awful. Worst place ever. EVERRRR.
If you still decide to go, pack all your black clothes and coats and a scowl, donāt leave your hotel room with more than you can afford to return without. Prepare to be accosted by the homeless at every turn.
My brother lives outside of DC. I always enjoy visiting. So many things to do. But, then again I enjoy tourist traps too.
And all the Civil War sites within a short distance too.
My son lives in DC. I lived in DC for awhile . I love it. Still go up couple times/year. Great city with a lots to do and places to eat. @squidskc donāt know what part of city you were in but Iāve never had a problem. knock on wood, lol.
Iāve had trouble with crime either but Iāve never lived there and I am good sized guy. One time I was staying at a hotel in the central city (Hilton?) and the cops and hookers put on quite a show late Friday night.
I lived in Manassas because it was the only āaffordableā place within 45 minutes of DC, worked in Rockville, MD, but my territory was DCā¦ DC proper is surrounded by some really rich areas, but DC the tourist trap and political center is an arm pit.
Youāre lucky. I had a knife pulled on me once and told the guy he was in for a fight if he really wanted what I had and there was a weird 20 second standoff before he bolted and the homeless there are ballsy. Theyāll put their hands on you to try to stop you from walking away and some will try to bully you into giving them money.
I was on my way to a Capitals game with a date and we watched a dude getting beat like an elephant at the circus by two guys at a train station as our train went by. I was in DC for 6 months before I was like Iām outā¦ this sucks.
Lol I paid the remainder of my lease and a $5000 signing bonus back just to get out of DC. I essentially paid around $15,000 so DC would release me. Iāve never hated a place more.
If i was offered to live free of charge in that dump i still wouldnāt do itā¦ i honestly cant think of a good reason to ever go back, i hate it.
I will follow up my last comment with i thought the metro was pretty awesome in concept. Used it to go from friend apartment to redskins game.
After our return trip my opinion of metro being cool was changed becuase we were asked to get off 4 or 5 stops prior to our stop. I may or may not have stood up on the seat and elbow dropped my friend as he was tying his shoe, but we still had to walk and that was not cool after a night game in Decemeber at Fed Ex.
