My GX690 has about 700 hours on it and it wont hold a charge for more than a few days - less if I have to start it many times a day. What type of system do they have to maintain the battery? I don’t run a 12v off the battery just a few lights that i use at night but I disconnected them to eliminate a short with that circuit. I’ve replaced the battery and have the same issue. Any ideas where to start?

Put a multimeter on the battery and find out what it’s charging at. Should be at least 13.5v or more. Make sure all connections are solid, mine managed to work loose last year.
Check the out put. More than 13.2 or less than 12.2 it’s the rectifier or the key switch. I just had one that was popping batteries. It was putting out 16 volts but the rectifier was good. Turned it to be the key switch
