last night found a deal on a set of 3 cat 4gpm 2.5k psi pumps model #5cp2120w on facebook market place for $700. i now have a gx390 with a direct drive pump that i bought off amazon its 4k psi/ 4gpm but i just dont trust this pump to be reliable. My question is would it be adequate for doing mostly residential washing and running my x jet? these pumps came from a self service car wash i think i just like the the fact that they are alot easier to find parts for than my cheap pump. also planning on assembling a few preditor 390 washers and selling them off and keeping a spare.
Why wouldn’t you just buy a gear drive pump to replace your direct drive pump? They run at the same rpm as belt drive pumps. 4 bolts…set the unloader…and you’re done.

thats a good point. the seller was just so local i didn’t consider any other style of pump. i have not gone to buy them yet so i might go that option.
