Gutter grenade. Ingredients?

Does any one know the ingredients of gutter grenade? Or do you use something else ?

I’m fairly certain it’s sodium hydroxide. Purple Power straight and another one @Jordie mentioned nu brite has enough sodium hydroxide in them that they’ll remove oxidation on siding.

Ask me how I know. Lol

Im game. How do you know ?

I have to wash basically an entire town where a corn starch factory over flowed on a windy rainy day. The town is essentially covered in wall paper glue.

I drove two hours to test 4 different things. Purple Power straight pulled oxidation off the leading edges of the vinyl without agitation.

So that house has a streak down the side where I tested it. I have to remove the oxidation on that entire house on my dime because I tested everything on the most visible side and a much larger test than I usually do.

Like a huge dummy…

When the company figures out how they’re going to pay the bill I have to spend 3 weeks in a town 2 hours away with stone roads. Huge pain.

I like to find out the ingredients then buy generic. Sodium hydroxide is probably pennies compared to buying gutter grenade.

Probably. But you’ll probably save the same amount not scrubbing gutters. Lol

Man I need that laughing out loud emoji! A town covered in wet corn starch?! :joy:

Someone posted LA Awesome works better than gutter gernade. I don’t believe it but I am going to have to try it on my house!

I was wondering what ever happened to that job. You’ll have to let us know how that ends up turning out.

For future reference, google like this Gutter Grenade SDS.

It comes up with an MSDS from 2014 that says it contains Potassium Hydroxide at less than 5%. Keep in mind that the potash we work with is in liquid form and comes in at 45%.

Potassium hydroxide (potash) is MUCH better at removing greases and organic material than Sodium Hydroxide (caustic soda/lye).
