Ran the m14 EBR in afgh. Not a fan of how they altered it. Ended up ditching it for the m110 once my supply sgt was able to get approval for one to be flown out to us.

Maybe check out some LPVO optics. 1 power is similar to a red dot and they from 1 x 4 to 1 x 10 now with an illuminated reticle.

@PennyDrills I had the M14 EBR for close to 3 years so I grew pretty fond of it. But like you said, the M110 is quite the gun. I’d like to build one if the wife wouldn’t break my legs for spending that much.

.308 is one of the most popular deer cartridges ever sold…

I don’t hunt but I know a lot of hunters. Most all of them hunt deer with 30-06 or 30-30. And they’ve been doing that for decades.

All I hunt with is 30.06 and 30/30

When you are using 180 grain projectiles, or less, 30 06 and 308 are identical in performance. And, I’ve seen people shoot dear and antelope with just about everything from 22lr to 7mm shooting times western, and I still don’t know what “most” people hunt with.

I use 165 g core lokt in 30.06 and Hornady 160 g red tips in 30/30

Got any steel targets William?

Lot of steel. Texas star. Hostage targets. XSteel targets had given us pretty much anything we asked for for advertising.
