Greetings from Switzerland!

Roughly a $150 a night although you can go up to $450 a night. Plus space rental. Also you can rent camping vans for much less.

The one we are getting is $250 a night. But by the time we pay for extra miles it will be about $2,600 before fuel and campsite rental for 8 nights ($325 night)

But when you figure you wont be eating out every meal like you would in a hotel it gets more affordable. That and I don’t have to listen to Ollie “are we there yet”

I think the trip will cost us less an 5k for 9 days on the road. We plan on stopping a few places along the way.

No beaches to speak of in the keys.

What lol?

I thought you wanted beaches on your vacation.

Key west doesn’t have beaches?

Look at the clarity of that water!

The entire Keys are coral islands. A few man made ones at some of the resorts, but they’re not much.

The water is great for fishing and diving, especially up near Islamorada and Key Largo.

Last time I was there was fishing about 100 yards off the coast and a bull shark about twice the size of you came up and took my fish. And I had been jumping overboard every 30 min staying cool, lol.

A lot of the Bahamas the same.

We were planning on hitting the keys for 2 days of the trip. That would leave plenty of time for other fun stops. We’re stopping in Nashville the first day. Then the mermaid place for a day.

Not sure about Europe being that expensive. Went 4 years ago to Holland, Belgium and France. Stayed in great hotels for $150 a night, beers were $5 a pop (typical bar prices), food did not seem that expensive. We did tours, shows, etc and everything was priced like any big city event. Coffee at the coffee shop outside our hotel was $2 and a danish or roll of some kind was $2. We went this time of year as well so it was off-season, but still busy. I think we ate at a fast food burger joint in Belgium and for the wife and I it was like $15. Now the rooms are small and bathroom even smaller but I am told that is normal for Europe in general. In Holland we stayed in Amsterdam at Central something - right in middle of town where everything seemed to be happening. In France we stayed 1 block from Effiel Tower and in Belgium we stayed near downtown as well. In Holland I remember doing an all day bus tour throughout the country side making stops in various villages and such. I think the tour was $50 each. Not bad for an all day excursion trip.
Having been to Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Bahamas, Cancun, Maya Riviera, Canada and all over the US, we felt the prices for lodging, food and entertainment were on par with anywhere else. Crap, Vegas can be really expensive - $150 each for a show like any of the Cirque De So La shows or magic shows. Restaurants are out of this world on pricing and drinks - unless you are gambling better bring your own and mix up a large cup in the room before you head out as everywhere will charge you an arm and leg. Of all the places I have been, Vegas is the most expensive overall.

Yikes!

The whole trip wasn’t that expensive it was mainly Switzerland up in the town of Wengen which is the main tourist attraction. Lodging was $400/night, train ride up there for the two of us was $160 but overall Germany was relatively very affordable. Beer were super cheap! I ate SO much cheese and bread over there, apparently that is a very common food which is not good for my wife as I am lactose intolerant haha

The bread and cheese over there is incredible though.
