DO you have a tractor? If so, put a pallet in front of it loaded with something heavy, something as simple as a round bale would work. Thieves can’t get to it to hook up. Then again, they might steal your tractor.
Technically speaking you are at a distinct disadvantage because you obey the laws. If you didn’t, well, you could go get a new trailer today for free.
I don’t know if this will help but I use a gps tracker from Verizon on our dog. It’s not made specifically for dogs but is a small keychain tracker. Cost like $99 and free first year of service. $3 a month after that. It’s spot on too. It fell off of our dog’s collar one night and I was able to walk within 6" of it. It has a pretty good standby and won’t start using much battery until it gets out of a set area that you set. You could probably just run a cigarette lighter port off of your pressure washer battery and keep it plugged in at all times. It won’t use much juice at all. I’m not sure if you have to have verizon phone service to use it. I’m sure other carriers have something similar.
I have a boot on both wheels and 2 locks on tongue of trailer also I take the crank lever off and on with a pin so they have no way to raise or lower the trailer and I leave my water tanks full of water to make trailer hard to life. Also I went to Sam’s Club and bought a nice security camera set came with 8 cameras awesome night vision and if someone walks in the camera zone it notify me right away. only way they can get it is if im not home. if anyone would like the item number or anything about the cameras I can post them. I got 8 camera with dvr for less then 400 bucks
I had cameras on my house when my utility trailer got stolen. Didn’t help one bit, KY only has plates on the back and ‘night vision’ is a joke. Best we could tell it was a white Tahoe, plenty of those around.
Police won’t do anything anyway, take a report and move on.
I feel some sort of tracker along with an onboard alarm system would be more effective.
If you’re concerned, you could store your trailer in a storage unit near by… A friend of mine runs a food grade barrel distribution business, he had his trailer stolen with GPS and all that…TWICE! never found them. He has everything behind fencing now and hitched to the ground lol.
exactly trackers haven’t really came up to date yet plus when it rains or heavy clouds overcast the tracker doesn’t work. a good storage building put at your house would be good no a days you can even finance them
