going through getting my business listed and verified on all the different platforms right now but my question is will these results eventually not be one of the first things that come up when people google my business? The person there talking about in the reviews is not me. one of the problems with having a common name I guess but hope it’s not an issue
Eventually yes, if you make an honest effort to do negative seo and create content that out ranks those pages. The trick is bury those things with anything that you can.
I just reread your post. It may be in your best interest to create a more unique name for your business. This Jay Davis guy seems like he may cause trouble for you in the future.
Where was this ‘Affordable’ located in relation to you?
Believe he’s in South Carolina and I’m in NE Ohio
Then I wouldn’t worry about it. He’s not going to come up on any local searches since that’s where most people are going to see a review site.
When people Google Pressure or Power washing in your area a business in SC should not come up. Google will provide them businesses in the area they are currently located.
I’m assuming when you Google your business name that is when the problem occurs.I would think of a name change because people don’t spend time researching if your business is different than the SC one. People just move on.
I’m with BillC and AWII, but also with Rick. Depending on your investment, it might be worth a name change, but as soon as you have identified with Google properly, the bad jay should no longer be associated with a local search for services.
People are going to search your City___ Pressure washing services or Pressure washing company
Make sure your Meta tag for your website, is one of those. Ex. Toledo Pressure Washing Service. ( This will help you a lot when trying to rank #1 on google
Getting verified through google business only affects the google map feature, it does nothing for the actual search listings.
Go verify your site on “Google Webmaster”. From their submit a Sitemap through the webmaster app, and then do the search and render option. This will help index your site quicker and faster. Good chance google has not even indexed your site yet. It can take months.
@Patriotspwashing I agree.
Have you guys notice your google reviews count lowering? You still have the reviews but your count is not accurate……seems to be an issue? Just curious….thanks.
Its happening to everyone right now. The buzz in the SEO community is that Google is removing reviews for service are based businesses that are posted from far outside of the area.
Yup, heard they are cleaning up and tightening down on reviews… making sure they are legitimate and accurate.
I have all my reviews, just the count isn’t right?
