Well, if you’re just doing paint removal and menial PW stuff, just get a 4k 4gpm direct drive and call it a day. No buffer tank needed, however without a buffer tank you’ll be required to stay on the trigger a minimum of once every 30 seconds so the pump doesn’t overheat. You can bypass to the ground if you need to but it’s unorthodox.
If you even THINK you want to grow the PW service into housewashes, concrete etc, definitely get the biggest pump you can fit on that engine. BTW no need for anything more than about 2800psi.
Oh and you don’t need much of a buffer tank, 20 gallons is plenty for smaller machines.
