Over 95% of mine is checks. @MuscleMyHustle are the banks going to eat the credit card fees. Seems like just another way for them to skim money off of you if not.
Yeah those fees are the reason why I try to discourage customers from paying with a card. I know itās supposed to be āa cost of doing businessā but I just hate the thought of some fat, greedy greaseball in a suit buying his third yacht with my 3% fee monies. I also donāt believe in passing the buck to the customer so Iāll eat it when I have to.
Itās the complete opposite down here, itās about 95% bank transfer and maybe 5% cash in hand, nobody down here uses cheques to pay for anything. I havenāt seen one in 4-5 years and @AUSSIE 10 years lol. We leave every job empty handed and leave an invoice with payment details when job is complete or via email, I havenāt sent a business related letter in probably over 10 years and give residential customers 5 working days to sort out the payment. Commercial accounts get settled on the last Friday of every month, so do my own bills for business. I donāt think the banks are trying a dirty one on us I think they just donāt want the infrastructure if there is one for cheques because most wouldnāt know what to do with them anymore there just obsolete.
Exactly what I was thinking
Youāre telling it like it is Corbinā¦no apologies needed. My dad would often say āThe truth hurts but itās still the truthā.
I love checks! Instant deposit amount of $3500 from my credit union. No fees. Deposit by phone money available immediately. Credit Cards cost 3% and take 1-3 days to land into your account:
I accept online transfer , cash, fish fillets, mud crabs, firearms, vehicles, jet skis, - list goes on.
Sometimes I do jobs on pay later terms or labour trade and on occasion I help out and do it for free.
It would be interesting to know now how many I have forgotten to even send a bill to.
I do barters, too. Got a $1100 kayak one time used for an hour and a half of my time and probably $10 in fuel and chemical. Gotta love it.
LOL, I like to barter too. Your cold hard cash for my talent.
Checks sounds like a lot of stressā¦ I dont think that has been actively used here in about 20-30 years here. I remember I saw a check book when I was a kid, but thats quite some years ago.
People here almost never use cash, its all card or apps to pay. I refuse people to pay cash, since all cash payments here is reckoned as under the table money.
My cost is 0.34 usd ex vat for sending an invoice from accounting system that is integrated to an app where they can choose to pay with credit, debit or bank with just two clicks. No need to fill out credit card details etc. Its basically similar to Google Pay or Apple Payā¦ When invoice is sent, they get a notification up on their phone, with the invoice ā two clicks = payment done
Basically āeveryoneā has it, even those in their 60s-80s usually have. If for some reason some do not have, they get an invoice, but then add about 8 usd charge for sending a paper invoice.
Then there is also no excuse for customers to say āAh no, I did not get the invoice, sorryā¦ā. Since its so easy to pay with an app like that, most people do not forget to pay alsoā¦ Win winā¦ Makes life so much easierā¦
Checks are easy. Just take a picture of it in your bankās app and bam itās deposited. Done.
That does not sound to hardā¦ I thought you needed to go into the bank and sort it outā¦ phew, much better than I thought
Nope itās pretty easy. The only times I go to the bank anymore is to get cash or give the little old ladies in there a hard time.
Oh and popcorn on Fridays.
I only accept checks. My bank will only allow up to $10k a month and no check over $4k to be deposited electronically so it doesnāt work for me. I like going to the bank though.
I wish I had that problem I think I would like the bank too then
My banker calls me every year to sing happy birthday to me lol. When my oldest was about 4 he went to the back with me. They had a gold fish bowl full of quarters on the counter with a note that said if they didnāt call you by name you got a quarter. He asked me about the quarters when we were leaving and I told him. He turned around and went back and asked for his money. Mrs Sharon came around the counter, asked him his name and have him his money. She was at his funeral and put a quarter on his remembrance table. Good people.
And no fees plus instant deposit money available immediately
