Getting more business

Hello everyone, just here to get some advice on how to get more business. I run a pressure washing/ Soft Washing rig. I am fairly new to the business. I have had weeks where I have made 1500, and I’ve had weeks where I have made 300. I offer House, Roof, and walkway washing. I am ready to learn, and hear what you all have to say. I’m located in the Space Coast, Florida area! Thank you in advance!

Everyone on here will look at your reading time and tell you to read more. The search bar doesn’t work real well. If you google a question about a specific topic, such as deck cleaning, chances are there’s a thread or twenty here you can read. Start at the top of the threads and start reading. The threads you’ve already read will be lighter than the rest. Search before you ask. I’d be willing to bet your question has been asked and answered 10 plus times just in this forum. I’m also new to this forum and there’s tons of information on here. Read ten different threads about the same topic because you you will pick up tips, techniques, and procedures from each. All you have to do is look. Good luck and read more.

And there’s tons of threads and info on marketing

We do suggest searching because there is so much information in the archives. The best part is the answers to questions you find BEFORE you had the question! :smirk: In any case this is my synopsis in order of importance:

Do extraordinary work and ask for referrals and (Google and Facebook) reviews.

5 arounds. Place a card or door hanger on 2 house to the left and right plus 3 houses across from every job you do. Feel free to do more if it works for you.

Facebook page. You need to post content.

Do work for non-profits, playgrounds, neighborhood signs, etc. and post to FB and Nextdoor.

BNI network group. Not cheap but has a very healthy ROI for many.

Door hangers. You have to hit multiple times.

Newspaper ads. Works for some not others.

Lawn signs at the house you clean.

Most find Home Advisor to be a total rip-off. I found Thumbtack can be effective but only if you turn off auto match and pick and choose who to reply to.

Good luck! Let me know what I’ve forgotten guys!

  1. Go knock some doors. When I first started out I banged and banged. There were plenty days were I sold (and completed) $1000. Flyer as you knock. Even if someone isn’t into it ask if you can leave a flyer.

  2. Find the dirtiest house on the street in a nice area and do it for free. Talk to all the neighbours and say you did so and so house. They’ll notice.

  3. Go to your local non for profit organization (biggest one in your town) and offer free work. Do the work, go inside the next day with 20-30 coffees and 2-3 boxes of donuts. Ask the receptionist if you can deliver it. Personally go from desk to desk and drop off a coffee, donut, and 3 business cards at each desk.

  4. Go to a local food store in town on a Saturday or Sunday at noon. Bring 500 flyers. Drop them off on car windshields.

  5. Go to your local mall and stand by the door handing out flyers and business cards with a “free cleaning promotion.” Tell people all they have to do is like your Facebook page to be entered.

I have another 25 things you can do - I will charge you $100. If you want the rest haha. These 5 things alone I listed are all little to no cost and each one can guarantee you a minimum of 10 jobs.

Awesome, thank you.

Thats the best thing i have going right now but if i was full time and needed work bad i would be knocking on doors. Face to face talk and explaining how safe your process is compared to useing pressure will not only probably get you the job but will also get you stuck in thier mind because you just taught them something.

Ask for Nextdoor reviews too! About 65% of my business this year came from Nextdoor reviews and mentions.
