Gas smell out of gx390

Hello fellow washers. Im a newbie in the process of launching a part time washing business. Question for the group. Is it normal for a gx390 engine to always smell like gas? This is when the machine is not being utilized. Currently im storing it in my garage but the fuel smell has my gf going insane. I know its a vented fuel tank but its a pretty strong fuel smell. Any thoughts? Solutions?

Is it leaking?

No leaks. Just wondering if this is normal at all.

I guess normalish. Just put the machine outside. It won’t hurt it.

Check the air filter and the oil for gas

Will do. Also, i just noticed that my fuel shutoff was on. Not sure it that does anything while the machine is off but i shut that down too.

Shut the gas off and let it run out of fuel if you dont use it everyday it will be better

Will do. I certainly dont use it everyday. Ty again

You were right on. After playing with it. I discovered a small leak under the gas tank. That explains the strong gass smell. Ty for the help. Really appreciate the community.

Yeah, gas evaporates pretty quickly so a small leak won’t show up but smells up the whole darn place.
