Anyone running their gas roof pump this way specifically the metering valve setup, trying to keep it low cost to start with since i have a extra 1/2in valve. wanna see if it will work good enough to get at least a 3% mix if not more just tell i can pick up a metering system from somewhere.

Just buy the proportioner. That is the hillbilly way and you’re likely to just get frustrated with it. You’ll learn quickly that spending the money on something vs. homemade diy version is worth every penny.
Like was said before, it will work but that’s pretty ghetto. Just spend the money the first time. I like having 3 (of the same) valves so have more precise control.
Nothing wrong with diy. I just put together another proportioner with pintair valves and check valves. Maybe $150 at most in it. My other is still going strong and I rarely flush it like I should.
If you go that route I have a pretty accurate chart with the percentages I can share.
