Full time pressure washing

How many you knocking out a night? Sounds like youbwill have it made. Steady commercial money then you have time to pick and choose some houses to ake your gravey money or just take the rest of the day off lol

I do mostly private. 1 owner, 5 to 15 trucks. Our minimum is $85 a truck at 30 minutes or less. Most of our trucks are between $100 to $180 per wash, an hr to an hr and 1/2

Not as many as I need. Iā€™m getting a short but sweet and to the point brochure made and over the next few weeks pound the pavement making sales calls. Iā€™ve got some established references so weā€™ll see. I want to build a one day a week storefront window route to break the monotony. I enjoy storefront window cleaning

Man thatā€™s crazy. I donā€™t know if I could do it. I get antsy when we spend more than 10 minutes on a unit lol. I like to splash and dash and knock out 40-50 units in a day.

An empire truck sales just opened up across the street from our biggest client though so Iā€™m going to see if they need anyone to do some detail and polish work on the trucks they bring in.

Iā€™m with ya @Grizz I want to spend more time with my kids and less time workingā€¦ but so far that has meant work 80 hours a week instead of 40ā€¦I want to quit my day job so bad but I donā€™t want my business to fold after a year because Iā€™m not making enough moneyā€¦Iā€™m using all of my resources to buy more/better equipment so when I make that jump Iā€™m not in need of anythingā€¦after Iā€™ve got all the equipment that I want im planning on paying all of my insurance health/liability/workmans comp/car in advance for at least a year maybe 2ā€¦

I get ya. I had a chance to do an old dominion fleet about an hr a way. 60 trucks, $48 each trk n trlr. No bidding, it was ours if we wanted it. I went to the lot ,looked around at the nasty things, came home. Wife says " well, we gonna take it ?" I says "nope, They have no polished aluminum or hard wood floors in any of there trucks. " I canā€™t wash and polish a turd. Lol

Im with you on that 100%. This business aint cheap thats for sure. I definitely buy what i need first and make my money back on it plus some before i make the jump but im like you id hate to lose what ive worked so hard to get because i didnt make enough money.

Id would be a easy choice if i was single with no kids but then again i wouldnt even be pressure washing and have the hunger if it wasnt for the need and want to provide for my family.

Donā€™t do it cheap man. Iā€™ll polish a peterbuilt Bob tail with the original tanks and saddle box for $450. If they have dual saddle boxes, headache rack, bigger tanks etc. Iā€™m over $600 ,just for the aluminum. SS is a whole other beast. But itā€™s cheap to get into. Couple angle grinders, pads, rouge, sealer ,resperator and some cotton towels and a good stool, your in business.

Sheesh. My grandpa wanted to try some aluminum brightener on his pontoon and it turned it whiteā€¦ I would be scared to use that stuff on someone elseā€™s stuff. Maybe it was way to strong or to long of dwell time idk but i would love to know how to properly use the stuff on aluminum. I only use it for red mud on vynal or red mud on concrete. He says it will look fine in a month or so( he worked with my dad when my dad pressure washed) but hes getting old and makes things up alot lately :joy::joy:

If Iā€™d use aluminum brightner "HF acid " on 85 % of my trucks, Iā€™d be run outta town. Ppl chasing me with pitch forks and torches n such. Lol. We mainly use citric acid on the trucks we bath n bathe. Now for the other 15% .Itā€™s HF or PH acid time. I also use HF to quick flash a truck, before I polish. Strips the rouge and impurities off. Makes polishing faster

Any who. Iā€™m with @Kps0410,Iā€™d go for @Racer hot washer if it were me. Then you can do rez, commercial, flat work etc. If you donā€™t need hot water ,donā€™t turn it on to burn diesel.

Ever since he told me heā€™d sell it to me for $1200 ive been thinking about it hard. I would have to buy another 4gpm and do a Siamese kit or buy a 8 gpm machine then redo my whole setup to add a 275 tote but im honestly considering it pretty hard right now. Another 4gpm would be awesome because my wife could do SC while i did the house/deck or use the Siamese to rinse after i soaped with one 4 if im by myself. Not sure of the cons of the Siamese options but the pros seem pretty great right now.

Lol. Your like me kinda. Itā€™s just me and my wife. Like everyone mostly says on here. Itā€™s pretty easy to bring home money pw once you get your clients lined up like ducks. Itā€™s not hard to bank 3 to 5 grand a week. All year long

This is just my opinion. I would run my 4gpm with the hot box and save enough to buy an 8gpm and not fool with the siamese deal

@Kps0410ā€¦I agree, use the 4gpm and buy a 8gpm unit.

I think you just need to sit tight. And not buy anything else. Youā€™ve only been going for 6 weeks in the busiest part of the year and been in your new job for 3 months with a pretty flexible schedule with benefits which you wonā€™t have out on your own. You should get a raise once you get past temp agency time.
Itā€™s not a matter of just getting by. You need to build up a strong savings acct, and gradually add more equipment after you build up some savings and a client base of at least a couple hundred clients residential with some commercial thrown in. See how itā€™s going in a few months.

I agree just been thinking if i coukd devoted all my time to pressure washing i could do alot more than i am now and make it full time. Ive been telling my wife to hold tight. That all this working and being gone will add up to us and the kids being alot better off. Its just taking for ever and im starting to miss only working one job and having time to play with my kids and hang out with my wife/ bug her when shes cooking or cleaning up lol.

As far as benefits go they are a joke and i opted out of them all. i sat down with HR after my diagnose with Marfan syndrome and they said the insurance might not even cover treatment for it because it was preexisting or something like thanā€¦ I am full time not temp and my lowest deductible is $2500 and its $45+ a week just for me $130+ to add wife. Kids are covered by first choice i think.

Your right about not buying anything else right now. I need to get a feel on what my normal spending will be and ive been blowing my money on more stuff to make me more efficient.

Those are real world numbers. I was paying $550 a month at the college for my family.

$2500 Is the yearly max out of pocket ā€œdeductibleā€ so if you have a major accident the most you will pay is that.

But each time you have a dr visit the deductible goes down with the copayment.

If you have the chance you should really opt into the insurance. An ambulance ride is 5k plus and life flight starts at $50,000

Iā€™ve loaded plenty of young folks into choppers on the highway to know it does happen.
