Fuel Tank Placement

I’m in the latter stages of my enclosed trailer build, wondering where ya’ll place your fuel supply tanks? How close or what distance should it be placed? Just concerned about the heat from the GX630 muffler. Picture is attached and I’m placing a 12v/5.5GPM soft wash system to the right of the PW. Thanks in advance for any input or suggestions you have

Your exhaust is 6" away from the side of the trailer. Even with that thin metal sheet, that doesn’t look safe at all. Any of the dozen firemen on here think that’s an issue?

Is there some type of diverter or directional part I could attach?

A good start would be exhausting to the other side

I think in your current setup, you’d end up melting a lot of plastic from the heat

Gotcha :+1:

Take it from me, you don’t want that muffler anywhere near that wall, certainly not pointing at it. I put heat shielding on the plywood wall and it still almost set fire to the trailer.

Turn your to face the exhaust out the rear when the door is open.

I would leave it be and go through the side of the trailer. That’ll help keep fumes out of your trailer.

That’s exactly what I was thinking, using a muffler exhaust extension, go through the wall and put a heat shield on the outside. Thanks for confirming another option!

I run mine through the trailer wall but only after I slowly charred the plywood and it flaked away (very lucky it didnt catch fire but it was for a big impromptu job) definitely want to do something with the exhaust, all those options are better than what’s there now

This was ten years ago, but concept is still the same

I have my fuel tank above my machine. I put 2x4s across the back of the trailer. I have a piece of plywood between the tank and machine.

Turn your machine so it faces out then put a wood stove panel behind it. Then never ever worry about it
