Float valves

Sorry for the insensitivity to your weight issues @dperez, I don’t think @Redwal9451 knows about your Jenny Craig lawsuit.

Racer runs the big tote not a 275. Its 300 something and runs a float valve. They make a premarked grey plastic thing that you can put on your totes pretty cool.

Does he run a float to not overfill or to not run dry? I could see one for not overfilling being handy on long jobs where you’re keeping both machines going and the water on full time.

He only has me out on large jobs so water is always on until we are about to finish then he has a way of timing the water to keep 125 gallons in the tank. We run water first thing before taping up and all that. You dont want to start overflowing while talking with your customer so the $25 valve is worth the investment even if it clogs up some times. Mine hasn’t had a problem all year so id say it was definitely worth the money.

I’m using a 275 gallon IBC tote and am using 2 Hudson float valves to keep from overfilling the tank (water line splits before going to tote). I’m running an 8GPM pressure washer (closer to 8.5GPM by my measurement).

At my shop, water flow is low and I need to watch the tote to make sure it the level doesn’t run too low even with intermittent spraying. At my home, I can spray water 100% of the time and the tank will easily overfill (without the valve) - my irrigation guy says I have the best water flow he’s seen in my city.

Most homes in my area don’t put much more water out than 6-7 gpm. So we run 4gpm on our residential skids. That way we don’t have any downtime at those sites.

Almost 9 gpm is insane! Ever think of selling water to pool water fill trucks?

I can Pee faster than my locations water supply. Have 2 350 gal totes dedicated on sight daisy chained, at most locations, and arrive with either 350 gal,or 500…
