Flexzilla problems

Let’s start with my experience…

My first supply hose in 2019 was a 3/4" 100’ Flexzilla bought at the local PW supply. A year later I noticed some bubbles forming about a third from the end, and finally one popped.

I don’t know if it had to do with storing it rolled up flat on a reel, forming weak spots.

Moving my posts over to here, so we’ve got in one place-

I’m glad you mentioned this. I meant to call them this week and I was going to post on here if anyone else has had a problem.

I’ve had 3 different ones do the same, At least one was a 5/8. Didn’t really notice it till had water leaking while on reel, thought I just had a section that had come loose, but about a foot from it, it was like the outer cover had a bubble and the inner core a decent pin hole. The next day the outer cover split.

All of mine have happened or at least I noticed in past couple of weeks. One of the 3/4 was on my trailer that I rarely use, so not like it was worn out.

@dcbrock - I’ve got to work all day, maybe we should start a new thread. Call it Flexilla problems or something. I’d be curious is others are having any trouble… This is pretty important. Let me know if you do and I’ll move this over to it. I took a pic, just got to find it on my phone.

If you look back in the posts, I started using in 2015. Loved it then and still like. Have over 1200’ of it, with 1/2 of that being around various places in the yard. And I don’t expect it to last forever, all hose has to be replaced. And my newest is probably a couple of years old. But I only use for water, so no biggie if mine spring a leak, but seeing a lot of people using for softwash hose which is higher pressure and chemicals. So that concerns me a little.

What I’m thinking may have happened is that on all my reels I have 100’ of the 3/4 and then either another 150-200 5/8 over it. It gets flattened out and compressed pretty good. I’m thinking that may have caused a few weak spots over the years. That and I know various sections over the years have been run over a decent amount of times. Who knows.
Here are the pics of 2 different ones on the some 100’ 3/4"

Flexzilla is pretty easy to deal with. They sent me a new hose when I contacted them. May be worth a try. Hopefully we don’t start to see reoccurring issues. I have been using the 3/4 for the last 4 years.

I know of some hose that’s out in Oklahoma that’s still running at 45 years old. Used everyday 5 days a week  search the forum for heater hose for more info

Flexzilla sucks
