Has anyone done any large commercial roofs? (ie flat rubber roofing materials, etc) A search for “commercial roof cleaning” only brings up threads about apartment complexes etc…What about factories, shopping centers, and so forth?
The seams on the white rubber roofs are either glued or heat/melted together so I think a surface cleaner would be a bad idea. We blow the debris with a leaf blower, bag and remove. Then use our roof pump to spray them with a 1 to 2 percent solution of sh and greenwash, let it dwell while we push some of the puddles around lightly with a push broom. The rubber always has a few wrinkles that cause puddling of the chems. No pressure needed at all. They clean up easier and faster than anything we’ve ever done. Just dwell time, push a few puddles around and then rinse. Just need to know where the drains go and divert if necessary.
They pretty much clean themselves, like moldy vinyl only easier. just have to push it to drains. I’m no expert but i’ve been told the manfacturers require them to be cleaned or they lose their warranty.
Jason, Jesse, just throwing this out here- what have the manufacturers told the customer to clean
the roofs with so no warranty issues? That is what I would want to know! All the best, Guys;)
