Fixing These Streaks

You might be able to get tips smalls long as you dont down stream it

@Wash-Warriors add a clove of garlic to the 6% to bump it up to about 8. Don’t forget to peel it first or you’ll be swapping out tips in no time. I keep a sack on the truck.

how do you guys apply this? I assume not run it through my machine as it will destroy my pump. I’m a total noob guys… took this job for free just to try and learn more I appreciate all the help thus far

@Wash-Warriors garlic mix always after the pump, any other you would downstream or maybe a pump up sprayer

What do you mean by garlic mix? I’m not familiar with that.

Someone please post the search bar link for him. All the answers you need are on this forum you just gotta start reading. And then tell us about you so we have a idea of who and what we are dealing with. Pressure washing is different depending on your location in the world

You are getting good natured picked on. But @Firefighter4hire is right man you gotta put in the study time. Watch that video of racer doing the driveway. It’s a surface cleaning doctorate level demonstration.

This works for me. I don’t have an 8 gpm only 4 gpm 4k psi. I get streaks if I don’t go over it twice. 2nd time has to be perpendicular to first pass. I like the following method better. Its cut and paste from a post:

To avoid getting the lines don’t walk back and forth with with the surface cleaner. The over lapping of the tips causes cleaner “runs” which become more apparent over time.

While standing still push the surface cleaner forward, move left or right 6 inches the pull it back. Move over 6 inches again push forward. Do it all the way across then move up to a new section and repeat. You can move the cleaner faster forward and back than you could if you walked up and back. The tips over lap each other constantly making it easier for really dirty surfaces. It’s not as slow as it sounds. I got it from a guy on here years ago and it works great. Great results with Zero lines.

Pump sprayer, 12v softwash system, or aodd pump.

@Clean_Blue that streaking is more the do with the equipment used rather than not knowing how to push a surface cleaner. Your method is spot on when correct equipment is used however this isn’t the case here, clearly the surface cleaner is too large for the machine being used and isn’t doing what it’s supposed to do. My best advice to fix this is to purchase a smaller surface cleaner to suit your machine and heavily pre and post treat. Concrete is either clean or it isn’t clean, that’s what those streaks are, clean areas the rest is still dirty.

@MuscleMyHustle I agree. I pm him and advised getting a 16" but that’s easier said than done when starting out on a budget.

I’d like to see a short clip of this ‘push-pull’ method. No matter what I do with my 5.5 and 16", it still shows faint lines. I even changed nozzles and it still does it.

I don’t know…my first year I had a 4/4 with a 20 inch Hammerhead with 2502s. While I did had to move much slower, I never had a driveway look like this pic shown by the poster. But I always pre and post treated with my house wash mix. I didn’t even own an xjet or 12v my first year. This is definitely a mixture of wrong equipment and lack of knowledge/experience. As someone else stated, hopefully you didn’t charge anyone for that.
