First painted house need advice

do a test spot in an inconspicuous place. Certain Sherwin williams paints will change colors or if owner knows what was used that’ll help. But any doubt, test.

That’s orifice size. Not really important if it tells you the gpm range.

For example, 4-6 gpm, 6-8 gpm.

If you have a 5.5 gpm machine and plan on running 150+ feet of hose get the next size down, 2-4 gpm

On my 4gpm I get about 9-1 - usually mix 1/2 sh12.5 or higher, and 1/2 water with it. On my 8.5 gpm get about 19-1 and still only mix about 75%SH and rest water. Unless you’re doing stucco, 1/2 to 3/4 of 1% will clean most everything. If really bad may have to hit that section twice, but I usually hit most sections with about 2 coats anyway. About 7minutes is the magic number. If your mix not working by then, strengthen your mix. But I tend to use a little more soap and little less SH then some. HO 's appreciate it. One of my main selling points.

I did finally find an injector that actually said it was a 10:1. Maybe I am just reading them wrong but most didn’t say that I saw. Thanks for the help though. You think it would be worth even trying to go straight 10% SH with my 15:1 I have now until I can swap out the injector?

Not really. $30 bucks for time saved on every job is an easy decision.

Are you still using the stainless injector that’s linked above? I thought I read where you used the Hi Draw? Maybe you did at one time and switched over. I’ve read so many posts it’s hard to remember who did what. I know a lot of equipment use comes down to personal preference though. I figure I’ll get a few of the most popular injectors and see what works.

What injector are you using @Racer? The same one linked above?

Never have. My injectors have always been set up so I don’t have to mix and get 1% since I did the 30 sec brain math. Lol

Way to much thinking going on here. Pul trigger and put finger over injector barb. If it is sucking then quit messing with it. Mildew doesn’t come clean? Dump some more bleach in the ds tank. Bleach is cheaper than payrol every day of the week.

I run a 5.5 gpm 2500 machine with a 6-8 ds injector and 200’ of hose with no problems yet… draws good. one thing I do notice is when i use the mx5 vs the jrod mx5 sucks more hw mix up

Shazam. Good info to have.

@squidskc ok, so I did a little more searching and found a local supplier that sells 12.5 SH. If I do the quick math with my 15:1 injector I currently have, that will be around 0.83. Your opinion, is that good enough? I hadn’t ordered the 10:1 injector before searching more for another SH supplier which I was able to find. So would you run with this? And you would DS straight 12.5 SH?

.83 is fine. May just need to hit the eaves and flashing twice. Might not. Let it dwell a couple extra minutes, don’t let it dry.

Not to be a smartass but a 15:1 ratio is equal to 1/16th so the percentage would be around .63 for 10% SH
And .78 for 12.5%SH
