Hey guys,
Just secured my first job at .12 cents per sq ft on a 2,727 sq ft brick house. The customer also had a small porch that was concrete and a back patio that was concrete with a little wooden ramp and railing off it. So I didn’t know how to price so here was my pricing prior to securing the job.
Driveway 100-200$
Porch 75-150$
House .16 per sq ft
So we came into the deal saying 75$ for the porch, patio, and stair case. The house charged at 435$ (2,727 x .16 cents). The customer stated it was to high and we settled at 400$ for the job. How would you have priced it? Can you state your area?
Sounds like you gave them the “you name your price tool” from progressive.

Seems ok to me, you could have NOT gotten the job.

Make your money, gain the experience and after the job is done figure out if it was worth it or not to move on price. Take before and after pics, write down every penny spent that day related to the job, dont forget to pack 1 extra everything.

Thank you. Appreciate the help!
Yeah we did drop the price but we were trying to seal the deal. It was my first one I didn’t know if it was over priced or not.

It’s part of learning. I understand
Only you can figure out what to charge. It all depends on your market. Also, how much your equipment costs to operate and maintain ect…
You will eventually learn and find a sweet spot. One thing to note is, you don’t want to be the cheapest… you should close 7 out of 10 jobs… if you close them all you are underbidding your work… and if you close too little you might be way too high
