First Gen Double Cab Toyota Tundra Truck Skid Setup

Almost there…

It’s been raining and now it’s snowing (above freezing temperature, too), so the progress has been slow, but we’re almost there. Just need to get through tonight as it’ll be around 28 degrees and we don’t have a garage. We’ll wrap the pressure washer around with some thick blanket and maybe even put a heater next to it overnight.

On a separate note, my wife is very capable and managed to do plastic welding on the SH tank. It was $70 at Harbor Freight. Left water filled to the brim overnight and no leak whatsoever.

Props to your wife. I wouldn’t have had the guts to do that myself.

Although, I went through considerably more trouble to get my vertical water tanks. If I could get a replacement at TSC for 70 bucks, I might’ve tried my hand at welding, too.

Oh, she’s always been the more decisive of the two of us. It did take a while to learn how to do it properly though. I’d probably pay a little extra to get one unplumbed, so I wouldn’t have to do this again. It’s just that particular tank unplumbed would’ve been $170 after shipping instead of $75, so I gave it a shot.

How are you controlling the surge? Wiffle balls? Corrugated pipe? Proper baffle balls are like $200+ for a tank this size, and it’d be hard to drain it past the last 30 gallons or so. Low profile tank problem.

Corrugated pipe. The accordion style that you stretch out. I cut a bunch of pieces a little shorter than the height of my tanks and dropped them in so they stand upright. Cuts sloshing by 80% or more.

Good deal, thanks. I went ahead and ordered 50 ft of the 4 inch ones below. Should be enough as I will be carrying about 30 gallons that I can’t drain.

You can also stuff in some of that orange plastic fencing you find around job sites. I used that when I ran 225 gallon tanks

Thank you for that suggestion. Something like this (https://www.homedepot.com/p/Everbilt-4-ft-x-100-ft-Orange-Safety-Barrier-Fence-14993-0-48/202520880), right?

I remember seeing some others using that method successfully as well.

Since my low profile tank may have trouble on the feed line from the low bulkhead, I have a backup bulkhead from the top. I thought the corrugated drain pipe can hold the hose down in place and allow the pump to suction from the very bottom if I need to use that top bulkhead. I just finished the plumbing today, so we’ll see how the machine runs tomorrow! If it doesn’t rain heavy, that is…

If it’s only 30 gals don’t worry about it. 1- 10’ piece will probably be plenty. I only use 2 in a 330 gal tote.

Good looking box @seanktm, Mind me asking where you got it ?

Not at all. It’s just a light duty aluminum box from one of the vendors on the WalMart website. Looks like they’re sold out on it. It was like $85 or something. They have another one just like for $100 now. Robot or human?

The listing says heavy duty, but I’d expect made in China quality light duty. The US made stuff was $300+ and a little too rich for my blood at this time. For what it is being used for though, no complaints yet. And I feel less guilty drilling holes everywhere for the 12v hoses and wires.

Check Amazon too. I purchased a 36" for around $130 awhile back. Here’s a link to the 24" for $93. Like Sean’s mine also said heavy duty. It’s a tad flimsy in the center but not bad. Can’t beat them for the price.

So, I went ahead and set the k7 unloader to 3,000 PSI with the #9 tip and tested the gp stainless injector with grey proportioning tip (10:1). It pulls soap, but it makes this high pitch whistle noise. It sounds like an air leak, but no water leak… Attached is the video. When I bypass the injector, no noise, only when it goes through the injector. Is that normal? If not, what can it be? I have a 3 ft whip line from the unloader block, then after the bypass, it’s a 200 ft of 3/8" hose…

Feel like I’ve heard of someone else complaining about the same type of sound, but I don’t remember who or what the issue was… Was it @Justin_Treu?

The sound is normal. You will lose gpm and not pull as much soap using that bypass stuff

That should be The noise your injector makes sucking up your mix or in DS mode.

Whew, that’s good. As for the bypass, I haven’t quite figured out my process yet, so I went ahead and put one together to see what it’s all about. Draw rate test tomorrow, so we’ll see!

I didn’t realize it’d be so loud! :joy:

Yep that is normal … I thought the same thing

Still making minor changes and improvements, but here’s what have been working out of. Thank you everyone for your help. It’s worked out very well for pressure washing as well as window cleaning. Learned a lot putting it together as well.
