That is something that you should have thought of first before you did all of the other stuff.

Market, Market,Market!

Get the word out to everyone! Hand out your business card to everyone, send out EDDM postcards, hand out flyers, put door hangers on doors, visit Realtors, get a website that is SEO optimized, get your business listed on Google, Bing, Yahoo and other directories, join the Chamber of Commerce and on and on and on.

Market, Market, Market!

Got it?

MARKET MARKET MARKET Like Bill from Curb Appeal stated. Best advice right there! Also consider joining the PWRA and use the benny’s benny’s benny’s to help you get not just a customer but many customers the fastest way possible. Using just 1 Benny here can easily save you the cost of your PWRA membership. I should know. I just saved 3 yrs of PWRA membership cost by renewing my insurance with Joe Walters Agency!!

These are all great here.
Websites are a must nowadays for new guys.
Great thing about em, is the customers that find you, already know that they want pressure washing done.
EDDM, flyers, etc are still good, but nothing like a high ranking website.
Also, adding yourself to google maps is free.

Build Your Business One Customer at a time

I offered a pre opening discount. I started marketing before I bought a thing! I had a couple of clients booked and ready when I finished building my set up. Friends and family should be your first source of lead generation. That will give you a chance to gain some experience on property of people who love you! That always helps if you run into a problem! LOL

Word of mouth is hands down the best marketing tool available, so do what it takes to generate a few jobs and make sure you do them exceptionally well

Just my .02

You hear a lot of these guys talking about a high ranked SEO Web Site. Do not be intimidated by the term. Paying someone to do it is more important if you are in a highly competitive market area or a National Market where you can get lost in the tons of listings out there. For the guys with a small service area in a local market it is not hard to accomplish on your own.

I have had numerous web sites over the years, I have never had a problem ranking in the top 3 for any of my sites. But you also have to keep in mind that a lot of the competition either does not have a web site or they are not internet savvy and do not do anything else to promote their web site. a little SEO goes a long ways in ensuring that you are listed higher than most of the local companies out there.

I should note that I am speaking as someone who has been in the IT industry for 20 years, so what is easy for me may not be so easy for the non technical person. The point is SEO does not have to cost a lot to accomplish your goal of being found in a local market.
