Anybody care to share their fire hydrant back flow prevention plumbing set up?
I’ll be getting a transient meter in the next couple of weeks and adding the plumbing for the gap back flow prevention this week, just wanted to get some ideas/tips from others that have done it.
Yeah I checked, I know all the requirements. I was mostly just wanting ideas on plumbing set up for the air gap flow prevention. I’m thinking to put the hose inlet as close to the buffer tank as possible, then run the PVC up the ladder rack 90 degree along the ladder rack as well, then finally another 90 degree to the top of the buffer tank for it to drop.
In the city of Houston you have to have a back flow prevention (either RPZ or air gap) I’m choosing to do air gap, but either one has to be checked and certified before they approve your meter.
