Fence washing

@qons Thanks for asking :slight_smile:

My new job is amazing! I’m the regulatory and compliance manager for a wonderful company that is both big in name, but small on people. It’s the best of both worlds. We sell into a lot of major stores, but with only 120 employees it still gives me that small company feel. It sounds corny when people say this but I truly am blessed that they picked me out of obscurity to head this department.

It’s really weird not being in the lab anymore. Working at a computer instead of mixing chemicals has been an adjustment…20 years of lab time isn’t something I can just stop thinking about. But the people and the owner of my new company have been truly wonderful, and I’m really making a difference. I have no regrets.

I really enjoy helping people and putting complex chemical things into normal people speak is something I’ve always enjoyed. Feel free to @ me anytime. If I can help, I will :slight_smile:

@CaCO3Girl It’s awesome when a job move works out so well! But I understand the switch being so huge that it’s quite the adjustment.

Did the new job require a move to a new city?

Nope, it was about 30 minutes closer to my house, I can take back roads to work now. Plus, I can work from home on occasion and I’ve gotten to travel a bit. It’s a win all around!

According to the scientific stuff I read for awhile yesterday, the preppers are right. The stronger the SH is, the quicker it breaks down. They basically said that 6 months from date of manufacture is the longest it is good for. Mixing old bleach with new bleach lowers the SH strength. They say don’t mix SH with city water, well water, etc, because of the metals and contaminants in the water will start degrading the SH faster. They say containers should be painted white (they didn’t explain it but I guess it is because lighter colors reflect light).

For every 10 Centrigrade, SH degrades faster. Heat is the killer, I could be misinterpreting the data, but I think I am on. Cooling SH is what they recommend for storage. Use titanium, use viton gaskets/rings, containers only last so long, blah blah blah.

A very short summary of about 2.5 hours of researching SH on the net.

And people on here probably already knew all of that.

I like it.

Pretty appropriate, too, since I teach part-time.

I would not own one. Not even if there was a fire.

You’re right. He did ask for it. I hereby rescind my request for leniency and ask the court to punish him as harshly as possible for his transgressions.

You know that’s exactly how we show acceptance in this sick and twisted place. @qons should now feel like he’s one of us since we threw that phone crap right back at him and laughed in his face. :grin:
