Fence lichens!

I’m not arguing with you. All I’m saying is your post was silly and no one should do that.

Or try it on their own fence and see for themselves if there are fumes and how well it cleans.

Do you use or like simple cherry? Curious about it.

@Patriotspwashing
@squidskc

You are both correct.

Yes there will be molecules of hydrochloric acid.

No, it’s not a significant amount to do any actual damage.

It’s a very small biproduct. Most of the hydrogen is released as a gas, not attaching to the chloride molecules.

On a side note, alcohol kills foam…so it really hinders the surfactant of choice. It also evaporates super quick.

The only time I’ve ever put alcohol in a formula was to assist a fragrance getting into solution, or to assist in super fast evaporation like a glass cleaner needs.

Two vastly safer options. Both work great.

Vs the most convoluted process to achieve an average result I’ve seen yet. I’d find more and better options, but I’m off to string together 15 five-gallon carboys as a buffer tank for my two Siamesed Troy-Bilts.

It won’t let me link the thread, @APW2 laid it out beautifully.

When it comes to thick sheets of lichens never underestimate the power and efficiency of a dulled and corner rounded scraper.

This thread is getting crazy.

Bottom line…

  1. Wood sucks
  2. Apply SH with pump up or 12v at 3g h20 to 2g SH with 5oz of surfactant.
  3. Use 500 to 1000 psi if needed.
  4. Walk away if you have to question anyone of these

Thanks all, I have decided to not do any more wood, this is three times now a deck hasn’t come out like I expected. I’ll stick to housewash and concrete from now on.

Back in the early 2000’s, I worked as a WC for a guy that also did hundreds of decks in VA. No chems, just a yellow tip at 3500psi and came back a week later to seal. Now everyone is trying to use bleach and such but it doesn’t have anywhere near the results he gave.

I’ve already beaten this horse twice dead, but I do want to clarify. In your original post there was no recipe. Do we mix it 1:1:1:1? Because yeah… that’s dangerous. It was only in a later post you said something 1 cup to 4 gallons or whatever.

You’re killing me! :joy:

Hello. How do you prevent it from running thru the other side?
