Favorite stain/sealer

So far i have tried bear semi transparent it sprays ok. Valspar was about the same. Cabot gold sunlit walnut… THE WORST… It will not spray and the only way to do it is with brushes and rollers it will also leave drip marks very bad ones(wiping it off doesn’t help much) I literally broke even on this job. I worked 8+ straight hours for no money :cold_sweat:. It turn out amazing though ill take pics tuesday when i pick up the check and remove tape.

Im thinking of trying readyseal next time if it goes on good spraying and minimal brushing ill refuse any job that doesn’t want me to use it and only use it from now on.
It claims to spray evenly and not leave lap marks or drip marks.

Edit: stain/sealer for wood decks.

I see a lot of guys on Facebook using this. Never used it but if I did it would be first on my list.

Armstrong Clark or TWP for me. Just finished up 24 decks for a condo association, everyone loves it and the stuff is basically dummy proof to apply.

I see people swear by grey away for wood. I’m watching this thread closely. I plan on adding this if I hire more or slow down. I have a lot of fence to practice on. Keep me posted on what works. Thanks

Problem with the bakers is that no one carries around here. It’s made in TX and they don’t have very good distribution. The Ready Seal is pretty much about the only thing I’ll do a job with. The Behr isn’t bad, but most the time you need to back brush or roll.

Um…Sherwin Williams.

Ready seal is the best stuff on the market and if you cant get that sickens is next in line

Im loving that system he uses too. $800 though.

I have the same system. He is actually the one who talked me into it. Expensive, but it makes quick work out of fences. Most decks I still do by brush, hand mit on the spindles.
