I’m trying to figure out where I’m going to focus most of my marketing money right now. I’ve got a few jobs under my belt so far that came from friends/referrals and just talking to people. I want to really start making the phone ring though. Not sure if I should really try focusing on direct mail, facebook ads, adwords. There’s so many options. What has worked for you so far?
Hands down Facebook. I see huge roi with Facebook.

How is yours doing?
I spent $35 so far and have got two jobs. It reached almost 3,000 people so the stats are not great. But that’s been my experience with Facebook advertising. My eddm have better closure ratio but it also cost a lot more. At the end of the day what I’m learning is the more people you contact the more you will schedule. I’m almost to the point where I don’t think it really matters what the details are. Just get your name out there by any means and appointments will come. I’ll continue to expierenment because it’s interesting to do.

I have a 2x2 add in the major paper in a nearby city. The add costs me $89 a month runs 5 days a week and has brought in over $1350 so far. Maybe give the paper a shot? I don’t get a lot of calls from it but they are quality calls!

That’s a good idea. So obvious and I completely over looked it with all the tech stuff. My money maker right now is eddm. I’m spending a couple hundred a week, but it’s keeping me working 5-6 full days per week. $1500-$2500 before expenses but I’m happy with it considering where I was a few months ago. At this point I’m just debating wether I want to grow and hire, or keep working my but off a lone. I’m really nervous about having employees. I’ve had them before with a retail store and it’s next to impossible to find good help. The other concern is having someone’s livelihood in my hands in an industry I’m still not entirely familiar with. And on that note I may just see how this season goes alone until I can’t handle it anymore.

I use GoPro Quik for my video editing, it’s free and easy. I love Facebook advertising and don’t spend a lot of money on it. I will boost a post maybe once a month. I like to share the posts to local groups for exposure.

Facebook has started removing any post to its marketplace section if it’s offering services.

I have 2 full time employees that work for me in my pilot car department. They work all summer and fall and sit around all winter. I guess I pay them well enough in the summer though. One guy has been with my for 5 years now lol
His names Ramone and he’s pretty much family! I let him drive the company truck all year even if he’s not working. Kinda saves him not having to buy a truck and me not having to hire new employees when they quit in the winter!
