F10 & Ox Process and Results

Hey All,

Thanks to all you BA wood guys and all your discussions, I cleaned & brightened a fence using F10 Sodium Percarbonate & Oxalic Acid. I followed the typical process and it turned out great. Here’s what I did…

  1. Pre-Wet Wood
  2. Applied F10 ( 8oz of F10 / 1 Gal Hot Water) using 3 Gal Pump Sprayer
  3. Let Dwell for 10 min but Agitated it with Stiff Brush at 5 min
  4. Rinse with Water using 4009 & 4008 Tips (4GPM / 4000 PSI - 250 ft Hose)
  5. While wet, Applied Oxalic (12 oz Ox / 1 Gal Hot Water) 3 Gal Pump Sprayer
  6. Immediate Rinse with lots of water.

The pump sprayer took time. I need to build a 12V pump cart.

Results were good, customer was happy! Thanks everyone! Hope this helps someone too.

Pic Color Corrected:

Upper - Left Half Pre-Wet / Right Half Not
Middle - Cleaned with F10
Bottom - Brightened with Oxalic

I like it

Looks good. You can let the oxalic sit for a while. I only use 9 oz per gallon. Fences are fun!

I am confused. The middle picture actually looks better. Maybe it’s the lighting.

The light loks to be from behind the fence in the third picture.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

So the middle pic is an ideal color? Is the bottom too bright. Used auto color correct. Also I think the wood was still wet in the pic.

The bottom one looks too dark. The middle one looks lighter and more natural to me.
