Enclosed Trailer Build Special

I’ve been operating my business out of the bed of my truck for the past year. I’ve saved up some funds to alocate toward an enclosed trailer build next season. So I went to work looking at numerous rigs trying to find the correct size and configuration.

  1. I’ve been going back and forth between 5x10 and tyhe 6x12?
  2. I’m wondering if this layout will cause any plumbing issues that I’m missing?
  3. What is the best location to put a ventalation?

I Used Tickercad to design this 6x12 (Plus 20in head) enclosed Trailer rid.
Please feel free comment with your thoughts. I plan on revising and adding plumbing to the next model.
Thank you for your time

Design looks awesome man! I used to draw on AutoCad and Inventor. Not sure on the plumbing questions as I’m working out the kinks in my own design. But I have worked in the trailer industry for a few years. Just want to mention to watch your weight on single axle enclosed trailers. Most of em have 3500lb axles but the GVWR is usually around 3000lbs. What size tanks are you using?

I measured all my current gear and scaled it down to that size. I currently have a 16 gallon soap tank, 35 gallon SH tank, and a 65 gallon water tank. I’m using a 4.0 GPM but plan on upgrading my pump to 5.5 GPM to start next year. I haven’t ran into an problems using those size tanks with a 4 GPM. Im not sure if that will be the case when I get the 5.5 GPM

@Justin_D Several years ago I was in the same situation as you and ultimately decided on a 6x12 enclosed trailer. In hind sight I should have gone with a tandem axle rather than a single axle trailer. You will fill a 5x10 trailer faster than you think. One final note, I would NOT block the side door with hose reels. I would run them out the back with the high pressure hose on the bottom. This keeps the higher torque hose lower and more secure. I believe that is what a wise former firefighter (@Innocentbystander) once said. Just my thoughts.

What is that with the yellow pedestal by the rear door?

A surface cleaner that I’m thinking of adjusting. I feel like it would be more space efficient to hang it on the wall somewhere.

Thanks for the feedback I like the idea of placing one reel right underneath the soft wash proportion. Then in the rear I’d have my pressure and water supply reels stacked.

For sure, that way out of your way most the time.

This is my second take at the trailer build. It’s not earth shattering but I think it looks and feels a lot cleaner. I went ahead and mounted the surface cleaner and moved to reels to the rear. Those reels make up my highpressure line and supply line. I feel like this will allow for a less complex plumbing system. I also moved the gun rack above the 65 gallon tank so I wouldn’t have to reach over it to get my surface cleaner. I think on my next model I’m going to introduce plumbing lines in to complete the inside of the trailer. If you have any ideas or feedback please hit me with it. What do you keep on your trailer that I’m missing or do you have anything on your setup that you think is unique.

BIGGER is always better. I went with a 7x12 tandem and wish I had a 14’. Not sure that 65 gallon buffer is going to suffice especially if you ever plan on upgrading.

6x12 is about as big as you want to go for houses or apartments. It will hold two 8gpms, four reels, 225 gallon tank, 50 gallon soap tank and lots of spare spare room for other stuff
