Email address? Dultmeier & general politics šŸ˜‰

Your first link confirms exactly what I said. The second link refers to aliens seeking immigration, not asylum seekers. Our case law is predicated on the constitution, thus our federal laws regarding asylum are lawful and constitutional. Our constitution doesnā€™t mention my 556 but it supports my right to own it :). Iā€™m not saying I wonā€™t those at the border now in my backyard, but there is no legal precedant to turn them away. We let in over 800k refugees from Vietnam in the first 15 years of us occupying their country.

Did you read 1182? How do you know thatā€™s in reference to immigration only? Itā€™s right there lol

Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.

Iā€™m pretty sure you were military. You know we can only use gas domestically, canā€™t be used in foreign lands or in war. We just lobbed gas into a foreign country.

Hmm we used gas all the time in Afghanistan

C S gas. Non lethal. We had c s grenades, but we usually used C S grenades that were shot out of our 203ā€™s.

Same stuff border patrol is using

And when you read 8 USC 1158: Asylum

I think you missed the part that says ā€œEXCEPTIONSā€

You didnā€™t use tear gas in Afghanistan unless you snuck it in  We signed the The Chemical Weapons Convention Pact in 1993. Or you may have been in during the first Desert Storm, but probably not in Afghanistan.

Itā€™s called C.S. gasā€¦and yes we didā€¦I was there.

Same stuff borders patrol is using

Our 1st Sgt would pop CS in our go medium tent in the middle of the night when we were in Germany. My mask became my pillow.

I didnā€™t miss it. It clearly states the exceptions for granting asylum. To be removed to a safe third country, they must first be in the US. You cannot apply for asylum unless you are in the country. We are probably on the same page here. I am not trying to argue with you. I just believe we should follow the letter of the law, or change the law. I am not a big fan of circumventing it.

  • Paragraph (1) shall not apply to an alien if the Attorney General determines that the alien may be removed, pursuant to a bilateral or multilateral agreement, to a country (other than the country of the alienā€™s nationality or, in the case of an alien having no nationality, the country of the alienā€™s last habitual residence) in which the alienā€™s life or freedom would not be threatened on account of race, religion, nationality, membership in a particular social group, or po litical opinion, and where the alien would have access to a full and fair procedure for determining a claim to asylum or equivalent temporary protection, unless the Attorney General finds that it is in the public interest for the alien to receive asylum in the United States.

Yeap ā€¦not everything you see or read is real. I was there and we had C S grenades and C S 203ā€™s. Did we have them legally? I have no idea nor do I care. All I know is we had them, and they served their purpose

Agreedā€¦thatā€™s the problem with most law, to much grey area, and room left for interpretation

This was pre desert storm. I was in Germany when the wall fell. Most of my senior ncoā€™s were Vietnam vets and trained us accordingly

Thatā€™s what happens when you have a country run by lawyers

Dumb grunt challenge. We would do the same thing lol

I wasnā€™t there, I donā€™t know what you did nor doubt you. I know my younger brothers both talk about the British ā€œleavingā€ behind grenades when they pulled out for our guys to keep. I know that the US doesnā€™t always follow thru on what we sign, and probably should never sign. When we were hit with gas in police academy they wouldnā€™t let us out of the smoke building until we said our ABCā€™s.

And , on the record, Iā€™ve got no qualms with @Patriotspwashing, only respect, If we all thought the same way it would be a boring world. Except for washing. If you donā€™t do it my way, you are doing it wrong.

Same here.

I donā€™t have an answer on the best way to handle the situation at the border. My son goes to Reynosa about 3 times a year doing mission work and those people have it really bad. I can say that if my family had to live in fear of a crooked government and cartels and the promised land called the United States was right across the river Iā€™d do whatever I had to do to get my family out of that situation. I know of one family whose sons were made to work for the cartel and the daughter forced to work in a brothel to pay off a debt. I personally think if weā€™re going to deploy our military letā€™s take out the cartel and give the people a reason to stay. But we probably have government officials getting rich off the cartels

@Innocentbystander technically our border extends well beyond the fence or border wall. The other side of the wall is still US territory. Mexico is some areas is over a 100 yards from the fence/wall. So if the border patrol is sending cs over the wall itā€™s still US soil.
I follow politics closely but I also come here to avoid politics. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and everyone is partially right. Iā€™m mostly right but thatā€™s just with my wife.

They will be cartels as long as the war on drugs funds law enforcement and the courts. We canā€™t afford for the drugs to stop flowing. Stop the war on drugs, tax them thru the roof, move onto to something else. Itā€™s like no one remembers what happened during prohibition.
