Dumb question, mounting bolts

I can’t for the life of me think of what they are called, the rubber isolating bolts to mount the skid! Someone help! Lol!

Kind of. Lol. Looking for 2” stud on one end and 1” on opposite (length). 7/16” stud.

@squidskc

Something tells me you as much a smarta** as me!!. (Take that as a compliment!)

I genuinely thought that’s what you’re looking for. Check with McMaster-Carr. They have EVERYTHING. Lol

I don’t think I’ve seen the ones you’re talking about with two different studs though. If you figure it out I’d like to see it.

No that’s exactly what I’m looking for, I was just messin with you. I’m just looking for something that would reach through my trailer floor on one end and through the skid on the other. Looks like I could use the double female ones and use the correct length bolts to go through.

BOBBINS!! that was the name I was trying to think of.

Thanks @squidskc. And yes on McMaster Carr, I just never set up an account w them. I have one of their older catalogs in my shop somewhere. And yes, the have EVERYTHING!!

You are much better off getting the isolator with out studs. Run a solid bolt thru machine, rubber and mounting surface.

Thx! Looking into it now.

I just installed 4 of these from McMaster Carr on my trailer build. One side has the stud other has female threads. Rated at 165 pounds each. Hydrotek hot skid I have is 460 pounds. I am shocked at how much these things move and flex. Is that normal? I knew they would some but wow, I am nervous to drive with it being able to move around that much.

Ditch them. Run a solid bolt thru a piece of stall mat, rubber isolator or something, thru the machine and mounting surface.

I was afraid that was the response I was going to get.

Those mounts were a huge pain to get in by myself. Especially with the absolutely terrible mounting spots on a hydrotek skid.

The true isolating mounts make a huge difference in vibration. If you’re worried about them breaking loose, run a few solid bolts with washers through loosely to allow movement, but act as a fail safe.

I had solid bolts with rubber feet when my machine was mounted to the trailer. It would make 4-slice shake like a tumble dryer. Now I’ve got the same machine mounted with isolators to the flatbed, and inside the cab of Truck Norris it just feels like the truck engine is running.

You can buy beefier isolation mounts if that’s the route you want to go. What’s the diameter of the ones you recently installed? When I first ordered mine they were a bit small but found some stronger ones to where they barely move.

@marinegrunt @Innocentbystander @Infinity @ShinedUP let me know if that link doesn’t work. First time youtubing

I would not be happy with that

That is a timebomb waiting to happen.
