DS size for 2.5 GPM

Hey, just want to be sure before I purchase the wrong size. I have a 3200 psi 2.5 GPM pressure washer. I’m just getting started and want to start using a ds injector on the end on my wand. Looking at getting the xjet and I think I need the 1.8 injector for my 2.5 pump. Is this correct? And if so how to I plug the existing injector that came attached to the pressure washer?

Thanks guys!

Well, hold up a sec. A DS injector and Xjet are two different animals. The injector connects right after the pump and draws SH from a tank and with that machine should pull a solid amount for general housewashes. An Xjet can do the same but has variable sized orifice plugs to adjust the chem amount being pulled, sometimes all the way up to 2-3% which is really strong.

I started with an Xjet but carting around a 5 gallon jug got old fast.

When I had one of those little machines the guys pointed out the restrictive ‘guts’ can be removed from the fixed DS injector, then you just plug the suction port.

Thanks so much man, I thought they were the same thing. I don’t have a tank yet, but definitely plan on getting one in the future. I want to at least start getting the chem from the sprayer, I’ve been using a hand pump and it would be so nice to skip that step.

Do I have to plug the soap injector that can on the pressure washer?

No you do not. Bob at Pressure Tek told me over 12 years ago just put your injector downstream of the built in one on the machine, arrow on new injector pointing toward water flow direction of course and your newly installed injector will be the only one that draws chemical. Bob was correct as always.

If he doesn’t plug the one on the machine it will suck in air.

What do I plug it with?

Since no one wants to listen to me on this one, call Bob at Pressure Tek and tell him what you are trying to do.
