DS chemical injector

Is anyone familiar with this chemical injector? It’s on a CAT pump. I blew an oring and jacked the spring up somehow today so was about to replace it since I couldn’t find repair parts locally on a Saturday. The only option I had was to go to Northern Tool and buy a new injector. However, after removing it though I realized it wasn’t anything similar to the injectors at northern tool nor the ones I’ve been looking at on PressureTek. The guy at northern tool said he thought they were a CAT specific item but wasn’t sure. It’s a completely different thread pattern and all. Any help??

Take CAT injector out.
Place nipple on pump, connect NT injector to it.
That should do it.
If not order one from CAT

That’s my point, its not just a normal nipple or I would. That’s why I’m asking if anyone has run into anything similar. I will call Cat tomorrow but just thought I’d ask all the experienced guys on here.

Drill out the inside, plug the barb. Put regular injector on a little ways down from the pump.

@Innocentbystander that’s what I was thinking. Would you do that and not fool with trying to contact Cat? Since its not a normal nipple thread, I’m assuming this must be a Cat specific injector.

In all honesty, I’d ditch the pump and get a commercial grade one. If you are going to keep it, do away with the built in injector

If its not NPT thread then it might be a hydraulic thread such as metric parallel.

I ran into this exact issue. I ended up getting the piece from cat that just eliminates that injector. It was like $30. The barb is a weird thread and the outlet threads are metric. Easiest way was just gettin the right part

Take ur check out of old one and still put it in the piece u will get. Makes the unloder work properly

Do you run a buffer tank with this machine?

Because if you do, I would see about ditching the unloader assembly and switching to one that doesn’t have the integrated bypass. That way you can run the bypass back to the tank and keep the pump cool.

Thanks! I’ll give cat a call tomorrow. And I assume you just ordered a different injector after getting that part from Cat?

Yea with quick connects

At the moment, no buffer tank is being used. Hopefully in the future, but still connecting to home water supply for now.
