I need to know what kind it is to know what to recommend. And you need to know what kind it is so you know what to use.
Ok let’s call it brushed.
Tractor Supply has a RoundUp backpack sprayer, those any good?
@qons haha, I kind of threw the GG4 in there for @dcbrock as a joke. I wasn’t sure if you offered window cleaning or not or would know what I is. Sorry, my sense of humor doesn’t always make sense.
GG4 is a soap made specifically for window cleaning, and over on the window cleaning forum there were what was called soap wars. People got pretty serious about it, which is very funny to me. Window cleaners seem to be much more traditionalist than pressure washers, as their daddy did it a certain way, etc. So, there was some name calling over soap, and for awhile when a newbie would ask what the best soap to use is, it was obvious everyone who responded was trying to do so carefully!
Ok, serious question about Dawn. I use Elemonator for house washing, but for pretreating concrete, would Dawn be better mixed with SH since it’s a degreaser? Would it help clean concrete better than using Elemonator? Don’t flame me for this, I really wonder what would be the downside for that application.
Dawn is a form of degreaser but I wouldn’t use it, suds would be everywhere quickly. That’s just me though, try it and see what you think.
I would think you could use a degreaser if you need one as dawn isn’t that strong. Great for windows, but I wouldn’t think concrete. But try it like @Kentucky1234 if you want, you may like it.
Just because most driveways will have some sort of non-organic stuff on them, I just go ahead and mix 5-6oz per gallon of degreaser with my SH and Elemonator. Could be overkill, but I don’t do a lot of flatwork and I know doing this the jobs I’ve done come out great, so I just always do it. I was just curious if using Dawn instead of Elemonator would work a bit better.
Just make sure it has viton seals and you should be good.
The customer is paying for the product so you might as well get a good sealant.
For normal everyday concrete, I use a product called Top Seal. It’s a water-based penetrating sealer. It does a great job protecting the concrete, is easy to apply, and easy to clean-up.
It’s just one more soap you’d have to carry on your truck.
And I don’t know any guys on here (maybe there are a few?) that are mixing degreasers into their mix for concrete.
I’ve heard a few people mixing in ebc into their everyday concrete mix
Any recommendations for a colored sealer for an older stamped concrete drive (about 10 years)? I’m thinking high solids, but not quite sure. Really don’t think water based would be best as it is too translucent.
I like red raider too for the light stuff.
I’d want to see a pic of the driveway. I used a premium one last year on a driveway. The driveway had been previously done 7 years earlier with the same product and I was impressed with how great the sealer had held. But it is expensive!
I’m probably going to look at it either tomorrow or friday. I’ll take pics if I want it after I look at it.
Went to the house and was confused, the driveway was asphalt and a little concrete pad at the top. Turns out they want the pool deck done. It isn’t stamped it was poured and rolled to give it texture. Control joints all through it. Took some xylene and a rag and wiped in a couple of spots, just dirt nothing came up. I think I will just go with an acrylic and some grip additive. You got a favorite? I’m leaning towards the SW brand because the wife can go to the store and pick any color they offer and I don’t have to play the color chart game. Won’t be doing it soon, it was 25 degrees out today when measuring the deck. Might get up to 55 next week though, but I won’t touch it until they remove the pool cover for the year.
I’d still love to see some pics of it first if you took any.
