I respect that.
Iām not going to hang you and your entitled to you opinion. I just donāt want another new person to read your comments later and think you are giving correct advice. We are self policing here.
I understand that completely. My experience and opinions will always differ from another. So can I ask how your experiences are with cleaning stucco downstreaming because Iāve tend to be intimidated before getting a xjet setup.
I typically donāt do stucco. If I do, 75% can be done dsāing, the rest needs an xjet. My point for you was, itās incorrect to say that you canāt clean stucco or brick by downstreaming
Hereās a video of brick that was downstreamed and rinsed with the same 0540 nozzle that I use.
Point taken.
I DS everything, and Iāve had good luck with stucco. True, Iāve had a few that I may have had to hit a couple of times, but who cares. Its kept me from having to buy and use an xjet which I have no desire to do. But as for brick, no trouble at all. So yes, I believe you can definitely clean brick and stucco by DSāing. Now I will be honest and say that I am looking at a 12v system. But Iām looking at it for a roof system. But if I do get it Iām sure it would get used for other things than just roofs.
Yes I think I took a shot without aiming here lol. All downstream injectors are different and I use a 4gpm/4K machine and usually get good results. Itās just brick and stucco I find myself reapplying a lot. My eyes are on a system simply because I have a lot of inquires for roof washing. But Iām sure itās one of those things where once you try it you would use it for much more. Funny thing is my local supplier is against those systems and swears I can clean any roof with an xjet lol. That is possible however not practical. Iām sure that is because he doesnāt sell any āsoft wash/roof pump setupsā.
Brad if you want to test mine out just give me a call itās one of the best investments weāve made. If you get a roof let me know. All I ask is for you to cover the cost of the SH used. Iād enjoy watching someone else work for a change. Lol
Will do Kenny! Thanks for the offer and I just might take ya up on it.
I downstream brick nearly every day and clean stucco ds also. Just depends. There is no āset in stone formulaā or canned answer. Reason you need the tools and/or experience to deal with different situations.
We did that HUGE brick home with a stucco front entrance and only time we touched the 12volt was for that black mold spot in the corner on that stucco. Probably didnt even need it. I think you was just showing how it worked lol (i believe that was the first time a met you)
Hey
Iāve always downstreamed (4 years). Itās true, there are a few jobs where you need stronger chemical.
Personally, I donāt touch roofs, but a stronger mix to throw down on a particularly mouldy/black driveway would be very beneficial - both pre and post.
Even with a post treatment of neat SH, I regularly find myself with a sprayer doing touch-ups of bits that canāt be shifted with the surface cleaner or would need too much pressure with the gun/wand/lance.
Iād like to try a high draw injector, but Iāve struggled with finding someone who will ship one to me in Australia
True indeed. Like i said Iām still new in my first year learning tricks of the trade. It may very well be the fact that most homes I get seemed to have never been cleaned since the civil warš¤£
Like tools in a toolbox 1 tool wonāt do it allā¦ya canāt turn a nut with a screwdriverā¦the same as you canāt clean concrete with dedicated pump systemsā¦you can bleach it but thatās not cleaning concrete⦠yes DSāing properly is soft washingā¦90% of what we clean is DSāedā¦the other 10% we use 12vās, air systems, or udor low psi systemsā¦right tool for the right job that maximizes efficiency. Is what itās all about⦠if youāve been washing full time for 12 years youāre doing just fine, and better than mostā¦all that matters is whatās in the bankā¦just saying.
Where did you come from lol. I was in canetuck yesterday replacing insulation. Merry Christmas friend
And to you too my Brother!
Not to take this thread off track (too far) but, you guys who are considering buying a 12 volt system, please feel free to call me and Iāll help you set up a DIY 12 volt system for way cheaper than a vendor-built one.
Also, you may want to consider building a small (1-2 gpm) āChem cartā I use mine more often than my roof pump. Itās great for pre-treating driveways and spot treating stubborn stucco, dryvit, etc areas after downstreaming. I think I posted the link for it on here a year or two ago. If not, Iāll post it later on if you guys want it.
Good to see you @GuyB
I built my original 12v system piece by piece (before I sold it) for less than $400 with battery, pump, used tank, and hose. It paid for itself on one roof job. Itās handy to have for time when downstreaming just doesnāt cut it, but I canāt imagine buying a vendor Soft Wash setup for thousands of dollars. They might look pretty, but not as pretty as money staying in my pocket.
