Not here, the stripes are caused by impurities in rainwater/dew and deposit as they create ‘rivulets’ down the gutter face. Shingles have nothing to do with it.
That being said I’ll try some vinegar on the next gutter with stripes and report back.

@dcbrock Sure. I’m not an expert in this work. I just gave a suggestion to use “acetic acid” for removing tiger stripes from your gutters. I’ve also suggested consulting this professional gutter cleaning expert.

@DisplacedTexan what brush do you use to reach two story gutters? I don’t have a ladder, so it would have to be some very long extender? Thanks
we just stick a brush on our WFP…reaches everything

I use a couple different Mr. Long Arm extension poles. They’re significantly cheaper than a WFP and they work fine. Just use a bi-level brush with it. You can get all that at your local Lowe’s I’m sure.

That’s exactly what I have and it works great, Mr. Long 8-24’ extension pole and this brush. I tried a “siding brush” from Home Depot, but it didn’t hold up at all. This Libman brand one has seen a lot of SH and gutters.
You just have to be careful fully extended to keep it upright so you don’t break it. I’ve had the same one for a few years now.

I just ordered one of these for gutters, will be clipping a microfiber over it. Don’t need the flow through, but the brush was the size I wanted.
I’ve been using a bi-level brush on a 24’ Unger like Nickski but I always have bad spots on the fascia inside of the gutter, and find it hard to get the brush in between the gutter and the overhang of the shingles.
Going to give this a shot and will report back on it. Maybe one day I’ll learn the ways of the masters who never brush a gutter lol.
