Downstream, X jet questions

I have a few questions regarding downstream injectors and X Jet.

First one, my machine is a 9 liter/2.3 GPM at 3300 PSI. It comes with a detergent container which I’ve never used because it drawas at a 20 to 1 ratio. In order for it to work I would need to put in the black tip, same as with the downstream injector.

So basically my machine already has a downstream injector correct? I plan to purchase this one, an M Mingle to cancel the included injector on my machine, would I just plug the hose that goes into the detergent container on the machine?

The M Mingle says I can control the metering valve to adjust the dilution. From what I read if I use it “wide open” with a 13 percent SH I would end up with a bout 1.5 percent. Is there a way to test what actual dilution I am getting?

Also, I find it a bit odd that the machine comes with a built in 20 to 1 injector. What would I ever end up using 20 to 1 ratio with? I would like to think it is some type of standard, but haven’t really found anything I would use a 20 to 1 with.

The X jet I might get if my mom comes down to visit from USA, as with shipping and import taxes it gets significantly more expensive. I found a couple of videos where they modify it in order to bring down the pressure, and make a true “low pressure”. In my market, Cancun Mexico, we don’t really have shingled roofs, most roofs are flat. With that in mind, seems I wouldn’t have to worry about the pressure being too high when using the xjet correct?

Correct, your machine already has a DSI, it is a homeowner machine, and therefore the company that makes it doesn’t want to get a ton of lawsuits because homeowners don’t know what they are doing… hence diluting any chemicals to basically be useless for what we do. It works well for carwash soaps/etc, but thats about it.

Don’t buy an adjustable DSI, get a GP ($20ish on amazon) injector with the correct orifice for you GPM.

Yes, plug the “built-in” injector on your machine.

Search this site for “bucket draw test” thats the process to find what your machine is actually pulling. Doesn’t take long to do and after a little math you will know for sure what you’re slinging on surfaces.

The pressure on the X-Jet is “low pressure”, I use the M5DS to soft wash siding and the X-Jet if I need a stronger mix or apply a chemical other then SH. The only modification that may be worth it is the addition of a lance/longer pipe to shoot a little further (google doug rucker). The reason it’s not recommended to use on roofs, is because of the overspray it creates.

he is the one selling the modified X jet. While watching the videos wasn’t paying 100 percent attention, but with his mod it lowers the pressure. I think he mentions that the x jet as is can blow out some loose shingles.

Thanks for confirming about just plugging the hose to the built in DSI.

What do you mean by GP?

GP = General Pump
