I don’t generally clean anything I haven’t cleaned before. There is way too much easy work to be washing stuff that dirty. Even so, I’ve never seen or washed any structure that ds’ing couldn’t clean.

Oh boy. The stuff i see on roofs and siding here would make your toes curl. If it wasnt snowing right now id take some pics, but thats going to be a pet project of mine. Showing you guys the state of some of these houses.

From my research on here im going to need at least a 6% solution for these roofs, an old priest, and a young priest. Also some sort of contract template letting people know that i will try not to but am forgiven if i kill their lawn

Ok, but don’t go make a statement that everyone should just use a DS injector on everything because you choose to clean mildly dirty surfaces. All that does is spreads misinformation for the new guys.

There is no siding out there, no matter how green, that a DS won’t clean as well as a 12v. I’m not talking roofs because I don’t clean them and see no reason why they should be.

Man, you don’t even know. Y’all don’t have 20 years of whiskey fungus buildup or multiple layers of mold/algae on gutters there. Trust me, I can DS all day on this stuff and won’t make a dent. This stuff is a dark grey to black in color.

My 12v system is a real godsend for these projects.

probably 6 months ago, :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I don’t think there’s been one that would take more than 4%. We’ve done ones covered in moss, and we never remove any of it. 4% will kill it d-e-a-d, easily

I’m far from a technical wiz, but I don’t think you should ever need more than 1-1.5% on vinyl, if that. I’ve seen some bad ones, but a decent application and dwell will usuallytake care of it. I’ve had guys who followed the “light it up” philosophy, but it makes it tougher to keep from impacting plants and stuff. I find it hard to believe that wht you find where you are is a world different than anywhere else. It probably just comes down to preferences on how to work. I’d never argue that having a 12v system is a useful thing, as an emergency tool if nothing else.

I live in Lexington, Kentucky and @dcbrock is accurate with the whiskey fungus. We’re in the distillery district (bourbon) of the world…I’ve cleaned some houses with the whiskey fungus DS but takes several applications…12 volt is a lot faster in those circumstances because I’ll apply 2% or so and does a great job. Rinse with the 8 gpm. 12 volt is just another tool to have in your toolbox dependent on the work you do and organics that you might encounter that DS might not be as efficient to use at that time. I DS 90% of the time though….

Same. I don’t actively seek out the dirtiest jobs, they find me somehow.

Yup. I run 125 feet of 3/8 line on a reel to a tank to the gun. My x jet is set up on a modified gun with the injector between the gun and lance. That reduces pressure and onerspray and still works perfect. Do it everyday. It pulls as fast as a 10 ft line. X jet #13 for my 4 gpm machine.

Im not sure why everyone complains about walking around with a pail. I use my x jet on a reel with 125 feet of line. If i have to go to a far away area and its like a small pool deck i grab a sepparate 25 ft line and my 5 gal bucket. Im sure there is a better way but this works pretty well for me. I do only flat surface so normally i am in the front of the house and the 100ft of x jet line on the reel is plenty. I found that if i wheel the machine to the spigot and hook up with a 6 foot supply hose, and the x jet line comes from mounted in the truck, there is less hose getting tangled up since they both come from different starting points. With no reel, wrapping ut 100 feet of x jet line tangled in the pressure hose is a nightmare. I leave the plastc ball valve on the gun at the trigger so when winding it up it does not drag on the concrete. I have a modified gun where the x jet injector sits between the trigger and lance, not at the gun tip. Reduces pressure and overspray.

can you explain the xjet sitting between trigger and lance and what is required for that? youre going to have to speak to me like im an idiot because…well i am one hahahah

Just post us a pic of your setup at the gun.

Even the nastiest houses I’ve done have never needed more than 12:1 with 12.5%. Most houses I do I hit at 19:1 and it cleans up good. At that ratio I never need more than 3 gallons per house.
