Rainy day… so out piddling in garage with equipment. I was testing the pressure on my 4.5gpm/3500psi machine with 200’ of hose and noticed that with the injector inline that the psi with a 0040 or 2540 tip was around 1200. With the injector taken out of line the psi drops to 500. I have a few questions… Is the increase in pressure with the injector inline due to back pressure it creates? I soap and rinse with the same tips… so I pull my line from the bucket when I’m rinsing… how does sucking air affect the injector? Am I loosing water flow while the injector is sucking air? If so… I think I’m going to install an injector bypass. I’m looking at a nozzle chart and it says a #40 tip should only be about 50psi yet it clearly says 500 on my gauge? Why?
I also tested other nozzles… 5 @ 3200 and a 5.5 @ 2700… which seems about right. My 2510 however came in @ 1250. The chart says this whould be around 800. Not sure why this is…
where are you attaching your gauge?

At outlet on machine… should I try it at the gun?
Tom, 1250 psi is what you would get with #8 orifice with a 4.5 gpm machine. A 2508 would be 1250 psi.
Your machine # 10 ,approximately 810 psi. Is it possible your 2510 is actually a 2508? Just asking!

Thinking out loud here,do you have another pressure gauge to try taking these readings with?
pressure gauges do lose how accurate they are:)

Hi Bill… The meg has 2510 stamped into it. The gauge is brand new. Thanks
yes, the pressure coming out of the gun is all you need to worry about
Tested at gun… 5 @ 3000… 5.5 @ 2500… 0040 & 2540 down close to zero… 2510 dropped to 1000 (still a little high)
what the heck is that?

Huh?
The bypass allows you to switch from downstreaming to full flow to use a surface cleaner without turning off your machine…Michael Kreisle has a video and explanation on his YouTube channel…I made and installed it this year, it works well

I dont think the expense justifies the reward, BTW, what is the gain by doing this? I use my surface cleaners with the injectors installed and dont notice much of a difference. If I have a big project I will just remove the injector
The gain by doing this is saving time…what works for someone doesn’t work for others, there is a considerable difference in cleaning power and speed when the injector is bypassed with my machine and when I’m ready to post treat the area with detergent the turn of a ball valve is all that has to happen…The cost was less than $20

The main purpose for a bypass sustem is for high flow detergent.

It cost me around $60 and was worth it to me… with house washing. I am getting more water flow for my rinse with the bypass valve open.
Could you just put a valve on the Ds hose??
