Down Stream Injector always pulls soap?

Lee Sorry I missed this before. Good info… and thanks.

When I wash alone I wash in a direction that will have me back at the truck when I need to rinse. That way I can rinse everything I just soaped before I go to the other side of the house.

When working with a helper, one of us is soaping while the other is rinsing. After the house is soaped up, the soaper goes back and switches to water and starts to rinse back toward the other rinser

Isn’t there a remote control for actuating a valve in the ds chem line?

Yep, sure is.

I’ve heard good things about them from John Marston, do you like them too Guy? I believe I would keep my helper washing instead of walking with one those remotes installed. I’ll keep answering the phone!

Yea I like them…ain’t got one…but I like them…lol! Although a remote would save time, how much would it truly save? 2-3 minutes per house? Don’t get me wrong it’s something to look into…and I have. Just not something I’m implementing at this time.

I’m still on 5.5gpm so I can ds with 250’ of hose. But I was thinking that when I make the jump to 8 at the end of the month (that is if I don’t keep having to keep paying to fix everything else…this last week has be van AC, catalytic converters, pressure washer pump, pressure washer hose, yard signs, new employee…geez) that it would be a good idea with all the talk about pulling chem with 8gpm. But I hear ya…2-3 mins on a house is not big deal at all. I try to drink water every time I go to the van.

We’re gonna be setting up a 1/4" 3-way ball valve system. Turn valve one way you pull soap, turn it the other way you pull water…still have to go to the trailer…but what’s a minute or 2?

Couldn’t you just have a water bucket beside the chem bucket and swap the line? That’s all I do atleast but like the idea of a valve

Sure, but we’re getting away from pulling chem lines out of tanks dripping chem everywhere. Bucket of water is one way to do it…3-way ball valve is another. Potato, pototto.

With this 3 way ball valve… You guys basically ‘pulling something’ with your downstream injector all the time, right? And the ball valve allows you to choose what to ‘pull’ - water or chemical?
Just trying to get an idea of how this is set up. Thanks!

yes, its a way of shutting off your soap without pulling the hose, dripping chems and getting air in the downstream line causing vibration. also used to clean injector. Doesn’t solve the problem of choking off flow though.

Not wanting to choke flow…just wanting soap or water

I started removing the injector when I clean concrete. It definitely makes a difference. My classic wants to lift off when I remove the injector. It’s definitely a pain in the butt to shutdown the machine and remove the injector all the time but if you want full flow you gotta do it.

I have that same issue, not that it’s a big deal to shut the machine down but what do you guys think of installing a ball valve before the injector so you can leave the machine running and change it on the fly?

I thought of that, Just afraid of that blast you get, opening the valve to relieve pressure. You would have to have a 3 foot whip, so you can face it away from you. I got a blast in the eye yesterday when putting my gun on, using the ball valve, because the quick connect wasn’t completely engaged.

Why would you relieve pressure with the line off? Couldn’t you relieve it on your gun side as you would when you power off the machine?

Yes you are right, for some reason I am thinking of installing ball valve after the injector. I guess if you install it before it would work. just dragging the hose back to the truck with you is still a pain, especially if you have your hose strategically placed around obstacles(sprinkler heads, shrubs,Etc…) . There has to be a better way.

Have a ball valve on the gun end, detach gun and open ball valve (releases pressure on gun end for release) then walk back to truck with line in the same place to not disturb landscaping and get back too truck, turn valve, remove injector and re connect ball valve direct to PW, open valve and walk back to gun and re attach and carry on… That work?

If I am understanding you right, it would work, but wouldn’t you be dumping chems while you are getting back to the truck?
