Door hanger design

Indeed it is. I’m making a 5 around door hanger as we speak, lol.

You should always, always, always ask if they have an HOA facebook page if they’re in an HOA. Then you should ask, if we do a job that knocks your socks off would you be opposed to recommending us to your neighbors on that page?

Getting recommended on an HOA page is almost better than getting a review from that customer. It’s about the only exception I have to requesting a review.

I’ve actually gotten such a shout out a couple of times. They are definitely gold.

I’d love to see it when you’re finished. I think I’m going to call the guy Keith that did HydroPower’s door hanger and get some new ones. I’ve just been trying to burn through the last remaining OG’s in the box. I’d like to get two batches made so we can split test them. Our calendar is packed to the gills at the moment and I’m kinda glad the og’s don’t work as well as the one’s with the deadline. Ha!

I’m still using vistaprint. I’ve discovered that with some patience, I can damn near replicate any design I see. It may be slightly simplified, but the point gets across.

Unfortunately, my schedule is not currently packed. The summer slow down is hitting me hard this year. So I’m trying to stay productive. I may go and try to get some commercial jobs while I have some extra time.

And that app you have seen a few times, the one called Nextdoor, its gold man. It’s totally free, stays in your zip code and it’s easy as pie. I’ve probably put 2 basic small adds on it this year and gotten about $2k worth of work, all within 3 miles of my house. It’s awesome!

I’m typing up estimates now, but it’s next on my trusty yellow notepad to-do list. I’ve only heard good things.

Usually I will make 4-5route groups, or if you don’t have a ton of advertising money these can be smaller individual mail routes. For me, since I’m a one man operation, I’ve found that about 500-1000/mail group is my golden zone for a brand new market. I’ll take my best routes and focus on those.

I rotate routes every week, assuming 4 separate mail groups, group 1 would go out week 1, 5, 9, 13, etc. and the longest I run is about 20-25 weeks. Don’t be fooled, this represents a large investment; going through a mail house I pay .33/piece or .29/piece if I go to the post office myself. So the cheapest you could go (with a 6x11 postcard, color both sides, uv coated and prebundled in 50s at 1000/week) is $7,250 over the course of a half year. At first you’ll be cursing me because you’re breaking even, but after you have a serious presence in those routes, you get repeat customers and you have referrals.(ooooo the referrals).

Your piece should be provocative and give them a reason to call. I’ve seen some that are so blasé it’s laughable. Good artwork, a good call to action, and good paper (I’m fond of large 16pt paper with the shiny UV coating) are a home run with a good marketing strategy.

Same fonts and logo as on my website and business cards

May want to check with your local post office about placing on mailboxes as they are considered federal/government property. Some homeowners may construe this as an infringement or unwanted soliciting on their property. Best bang for your buck may be a yard sign strategically placed at a neighborhood stop sign. I use a zip tie to secure them from wind. Just be sure to get permission from property owner or do some comp work for them in exchange. Alot of those magnets may end up in the trash can. Just my .02

Those turned out pretty slick. Simple and gets the point across

They are superb compared to my first ones, lol.

How did your split test turn out? Would like to know what words and phrases got you more calls.

Which split test? I split test a lot. Lol

5 arounds mainly. Im looking to have some made and im trying to write up the wording and layout.
Going to call the guy who did hydros if he is still doing them. Didnt you have some with boxes you check off for the services you did? I cant find it anywhere.

Here you go. Came across this recently.
