I’m not sure what happened. I came through with a normal house wash mix, did some rinsing on another side, came back, and it looked like this. Some hydrogen peroxide took care of it but I’d still like to know if anyone knows why this happened
What was it?
I have no idea. Was hoping someone in here would have an idea what it was and why it happened
This exact thing happened to me last year on a house wash. The handle started bleeding that crap, the finish on those is garbage. I did manage to get it back in reasonable shape with TarnX but the customer was fine with it. You may have to replace that whole thing, I think all the darker bronze finish got washed off.
Some hydrogen peroxide did the trick and got it all cleaned up pretty good. Do you do anything now to prevent it? Is there any kind of handle in specific I should look out for?
I just get sketched by any darker colored brass handle now, the other guys are way more experienced than me and bag all fixtures and electrical outlets.
that chinesium gets taped. Wide frog tape 1.88, one wrap the whole way around and then pinch it in towards the center. Normally the long metal handle gets a piece wrapped around it too. I carry a roll on my belt like a gaffer. Fast. Oil rubbed bronze gets taped too. Everything else gets sprayed.
IBS would probably tell you to tape the keyhole. The man does know a thing or two about a thing or two.
I use something like this, but I made mine from 550 cord and a carabiner.
smart I like that
