Pshhh ac-130 is king of air support.
They’re great if you like driving buses in big circles versus an agile sports car ;>)

Don’t forget the 130 can provide CAS for 8+ hours without hitting up a tanker.
Remember, most battles are over when the hogs arrive, but the ac-130 are great especially when you need flares!

Those flares do look nice. I’m partial though. I was crew on a marine 130. We didn’t have AC’s but we had a roll on roll off system called harvest HAWK. We just had hellfire and griffon missiles. It was still pretty dope.

The AC-130 is freaking awesome. I love watching videos of it when doing combat missions. You just see little white glowing people running all over the place while the 130 just hangs around overhead taking them all out. After the first explosion you just see little white figures hauling butt. You can tell by the way they’re running they have no idea where they should run to. Doesn’t really matter where they go because they can’t hide. A few seconds later they meet their maker. You just wonder what’s going through their mind. I’d love to be in one during a mission just to watch and listen to how the whole crew operates. They say the new 30mm cannon on the newer version is as accurate as a sniper rifle. That’s absolutely amazing considering they’re flying at whatever speed however many thousands of meters above ground.
There was talk about retiring the Warthog but I don’t think they’re going to anymore. I guess it’s kind of outdated compared to some other aircraft but keeping it around proves it serves its purpose well which means it saves lives. I’ll always love the Warthog but hard to compare to the firepower of the 130.

Yes the AC-130J is supposed to be insane. They are awesome planes. I’d love to see how the crew operates as well. There is a lot going on in there during a mission. I know the crew coordinate has to be spot on.

What is the HAWK? Do you just roll off 500 pound bombs out the back or something?
Nah to much room for error. They roll off JDAMs so they can guide them 
3 lance corporals pitching satchel charges out the jump door…
Edit: looked it up and that HAWK system sounds amazing. Talk about having a multifunctional aircraft!
