Dn-10 ball valve issue

Okay so washing today with my DN 10 connected to my wand with j-rod at the end as usual. When I turned off my ball valve noticed for the first time getting a little stream of water coming out to j-rod. Then after 30 seconds it seemed to stop. Been using this ball valve for about 10 months. Is my ball valve going bad? Couldn’t be anything else o rings would leak at the connections this is just coming straight out my j-rod has a very light stream about 3 inches long out the j-rod

Time for a new ball valve. That should be stopping the water downstream. Apparently its not

Are you not using a trigger gun?

Remove the ball valve. See if gun leaks without it. Then see if ball valve leaks when no gun is attached. Should tell you if it’s the gun or the ball valve. My money would be on the gun. That’s usually the first sign they show when they’re going bad.

There’s your problem. Toss it in the toolbox, just use your Suttner 2315. @Innocentbystander made me see the light. Here’s all you need…

I think William even dispenses with the swivel but the one on my hose doesn’t work very well.

On a side note I’ve used the same gun for four years and it always hisses out a little water, even when new. If/when it goes I have another ready.

both parts are disposables in this business…buy them in whatever bulk you need, and never not have one on hand/the truck

Yes I am using a trigger gun and yes I do keep double of everything on the truck. I did have a brand new gun on the truck and hooked it up and I believe the same thing happened with the new gun but not as bad. I’m just thinking it’s ball valve which I do have another one just was busy yesterday didn’t have time to mess with anything

Take the ball valve you think is leaking, and your spare and give them to your competition. You don’t need them and it will have the double advantage of slowing him down if he is foolish enough to accept them.

I couldn’t wash w/o mine. I keep 3 spare complete ball valve assemblies, one on the hose and a spare for each machine made up, plus a couple of naked ones. If you do a lot of concrete like I do they’re invaluable.

Totally agree!

Yes I too kept a fully assembled one on my truck. I started this a year ago so that’s how long my ball valve lasted. Will start using the new one and buy another spare

Don’t you guys plug your gun into the surface cleaner?

nope, that’s what the gun on the SC is for IMO :man_shrugging:

I have the Ultra Clean, i took the stock gun off and now just snap the 2315 onto the male fitting per @Innocentbystander suggestion. Snap it off, clip the jrod on, rinse. Haven’t used the ball valve all season.

i guess the gun can handle the side torque??? i can break nearly everything, and my gun is starting to leak.
side note, i just hang my gun from the other handle. i twist up my surface cleaners sometimes, i think I’ll just keep the BV…
anyone know if the 2315 have a leak repair kit. Id like to keep my 1st gun around.

Can’t say as I apply any lateral force to my SC, so far so good.

I dont know about a repair kit but i had one leaky handle and it was the pin that the handle pushes into a ball that corroded from the SH running down it from a worn o ring at the output side of handle. It was a cheap NT handle and i couldn’t find a new pin. Ive been using my GP yg5000c for long time now. I do replace o rings when i see they need it! Hope you find what you need. It hurts to throw away something that could be repaired so easily. I had a 21" homeowner’s walk behind lawnmower i used for mulching trimmings for 20 years that doesn’t work anymore because the pull chord broke and its designed not to be replaced! Crazy. I still have it hoping it magically repairs itself i guess
