The extra 4min is completely un-necessary. That’d be 25 gal flush, lol.
I repair a lot more of these things than you do these days. I’m fine with someone rinsing for one minute. But it’s not hard to let it run while you roll a hose up.
If I advise 5 minutes they MIGHT rinse for 1 minute is my line of thinking.
You’re probably right. I’ve never repaired one. Have 6 of them, replace about 1/yr.
I see about 3 a week now. But you’re a meticulous guy who takes care of his stuff.
So today I slapped together a 12v rig for an unusual (for me) job tomorrow. It’s a Northern Tool 5.5 gpm pump with a brand new deep cycle battery. I added a reducer bushing to downsize the 1/2 inch output to 3/8 because that is all I use & I don’t mind the negative repercussions but I ran some tests while I was messing with it… 100 feet of 3/8 hose with a 2540 tip at the end = exactly 2 gpm. Gun removed & ball valve wide open through the same hose = 2.6 gpm. That’s a lot of loss!!!
Thanks for posting this . Very good idea. Found them on Amazon, good savings over other solutions.
You should try swapping to 100’ of 1/2" and compare
I will eventually. I don’t expect to use this setup very often but we’ll see what happens. Just wanted to share the real numbers in case anyone may find them useful.
Could you please send me information on this double wye?
If you read the thread you would see he is not doing this anymore
Check out these check valves. I used one right at the inlet of my pickup tube for sh. It has no springs in it. has been working for me and has not been treated the best ( no rinsing after use)
Can’t believe this is the all time top post on this forum!
You’re in the top 20, but about 2500 from the top post. Welcome back.
Hey bud. How are things going?
He has a long way to go to be the top post comment-wise.
But view-wise, it’s the top post. Kinda crazy.
#2 & #3 are even crazier.
Yeah, that’s what I was referring to. The view count. Crazy lol.
Great! I bought a small farm and now I need the house and roof washed. Anyone here live near or service Erin, TN? Ha!
There was a new guy just asking about Tenessee regulations for washing. lol
You’re in the middle of nowhere, lol. Looks like a place that could use a local PW. You must like Irish beer.
Man this thread has gone on for years. Did anyone get a link to a manufacture selling metering valves 3/4 and 1" NPT?
