DIY proportioner (Exact Parts List as the ones selling for $400)

Thanks Steve. I was wondering about the soap usage. I’ll look into the SMC needle valve. I’m on my 4th year and have always x-jetted. I’m building a remote controlled ball-valve box to speed things up this year. I’ve gotten pretty good at batch mixing and knowing what to add and subtract (so to speak) as to achieve my desired results.

I’m not sure what happened with the email. It is jayson.richey@yahoo.com. You can try jayson.richey@roadrunner.com.

I just finished putting mine together. But the week before, my 5GPM burnt out. I think it was my fault for crossing wires and/or getting them wet sitting in water. The wires were so hot they actually burnt into the casing of my battery. So to make a long story longer, I ended up getting a 4 GPM pump /w60 psi locally. It works but w/the proportioner I lose too much psi. I’m running 1/2’ drop sticks but my feeds are 3/4" ID. Should I just get the fatboy? or what? The 7GPM looks like can be adjusted to up to 150 psi. That would be great IMO.

I use a 7gpm/100psi ‘fatboy’ pump and get about 4gpm after 180’ of Ag hose. It’ll mostly reach 2+ levels.

I did have to adjust the cutoff pressure switch with the tiny allen key screws as it was cycling really fast.

I’m seriously thinking of doing the 10gpm 24v upgrade at some point.

No it wouldn’t. The ideal setting for those is about 80psi. It won’t last 2 weeks set at 150. Go to NT and get you a 5.5. Will shoot about 35’ with 200’ of 1/2". The Delavan will work fine too, but I’ve had better luck maintenance wise with the NT ones.

I noticed northern has a 10gpm bleach pump on their site.

I think the reason was the quick connects as to why I didn’t get the 5.5. (I had the delevan set up for threaded fittings to banjo cam locks.) But I’m also noticing the 5.5’s are showing 60 psi on the specs.

That’s the 24v I was talking about.

You can get threaded or with the quick connects

when i set up my hoses from the proportioner, do they all need to be the same length?

It’s usually better that way….if you can. At least from my experience with mine.

NT is for Northern Tool? Those are the pumps you recommend? 100 psi dialed down to 80psi

Why use the 3/4 cross piece and not 1/2?
