Hey Guys, I got a call today to bid 32 , (i think 10 foot) metal bay doors. they have just dirt and diesel soot on them. I am thinking either 12 volt it or DS a mild degreaser and rinse. I usually scrub metal doors but with this many I’m looking for a quicker way to go through them if possible. any ideas of recommendations? Heard one recommend bobs F13 gutter grenade for them.
I did 25 doors a couple weeks ago with some soot and greasy hand prints. EBC helped a lot but couldn’t get them spotless. I don’t think these doors have ever been cleaned. I did scrub each door as some stains needed some help. I tried a little GG on a brush and it did seem to help but I don’t think just spraying it on would have done as well.
yeah thats what I was afraid of. I hope to spray and rinse and just scrub the stained spots. But then my luck ill disturb any oxidation and have to scrub the whole thing. lol
The finish on most commercial doors is VERY thin. You can easily strip the finish from the door if not careful. If it were me, I’d sell it as a prep to paint job and put it in writing that you make no guarantees that the finish will be intact when you are finished.
