Diesel Soot from Siding

Anyone know any tricks to remove diesel soot from vinyl siding?

Welcome Mike! 3 questions for you:
What color is the siding?
Is the siding oxidized/chalky at all?
How much experience do you have with cleaning vinyl?

We use this from a local chem company. We dilute it and it cuts carbon like crazy. Spray it on chimney soot and a light rinse is all we need. I’d ask a local chem supplier or experiment with your favorite degreaser.

Jason,

Spot on. Sodium hydroxide is well known to be a very effective oil based stain stripper by wood companies. As “diesel soot” should be a by product of oil combustion, should work well. Not too much, try maybe 4 oz. or equivalent per gal. in your mix. Take a bit of care in handling and pre/post wash plantings exposed to spray.

Would this “hot soap” work on brick chimney with soot stains? Tried my normal house wash mix, 3G SH, 2G H2O, 8 oz Elemonator, not much change. Also tried same mix with dragon juice instead of elemonator and same outcome.
