Did my first house wash!

It was my own house! lol

I decided to try this out after like 5 months of research.

Got a deal on a belt driven 4gpm/4000 psi GX390. It came with a 2.1 injector, wand, tips, hose. So I went and got some SH yesterday and washed my house today.

Did a bucket test and it filled up a 5 gallon bucket while sucking about a quarter gallon bleach. So I figured one gallon of SH to every 20 gallons of water meant I was diluted to about a 20:1 ratio. I know that’s super low, like about 0.6% SH, but I figured sure whatever I don’t really know what I’m doing anyway besides researching forums and YouTube so let’s just try it.

House came out pretty good. Definitely cleaner. I’m like 85% happy with the results.

The PW came with tips and the guy gave me some 25 degree tips for a 6.5 and 8 gpm that he used with a 4/4 and said it works to soap.

Even with the 8gpm tip I felt like I was just atomizing water lol and any of the other tips made it even mistier. So I kind of went back and forth between the 8gpm 25 tip and no tip at all. The only way to hit the peaks of my house were with no tip. Is this a problem with me, the gun setup, or the pressure washer setup? Should I swap pumps to like a 5.5/3000? I considered maybe an M5 twist would work better for reaching higher but guys I’m new so I don’t really know so I wanted to ask what y’all thought could help me control the spray and maybe reach higher? Thanks

If you’re planning to clean more houses, I’d go with the M5DS and a shooter tip (basically this, but you may be able to build it yourself for cheaper). It will give you a wide spray pattern and low pressure, pulls soap so add a bypass or shut off valve on your chem line to shut off the draw and rinse. The shooter tip should be able to reach the peaks easily. Stepping down your injector size will give you a stronger mix down streaming. Use the 4/4K until you are ready to step up to a 8/3500 machine and everything thats needed to go with it.

I’d go with a 1.8 injector for that 4 gpm……

I used 2 story tips from Amazon to reach as tall as I could with soap and with rinsing with my 4gpm. Also used a smaller injector to pull more.

The m5ds is all I use nowadays for my 8gpm unit

I have two. One is 7-11gpm if i recall correctly and the 2nd is a 3-7. I use the 3-7 if I need a little more stank out of injector.

What does this mean?

I use the smaller injector if I want the house wash mix to be a little stronger

Ahh. Ok. I thought you were talking about the M5 twist nozzle and were saying you could use one meant for a smaller machine and get more of a draw. lol

Good copy on all. Thanks guys. Do yall think a 4/4k machine is still safe enough to use on siding with the M5ds turned to a wide fan? Or should I really be using a machine putting out 2500/3000/3500? Last thing I want to do is harm others people property

Get the m5ds nozzle. At full stream probably only shoots about 500-600 psi. And as previously said, get you a couple of 1.8 injectors.
